i don't know what mod it is, i think it might be a clone. i charged the 18650 panasonic batterie and attached my r2d2 tank and it hardly pushes the power through to the tank, you have to hold the button for ages before anything happens, it is a mod that has the button on the side towards the top. i put on my rda to test it out but when i pressed the button it just sank into the switch housing, so i don't know if i have fried my wiring

Um, please don't take this the wrong way, but if you don't even know what mod it is then you really shouldn't be using mechanicals to begin with. Mechanicals are unregulated and can be dangerous.

Do yourself a favor and just put that mod away until you learn more about them. Better that than wind up in the hospital after your batteries vent and you get 3rd degree burns.

hello ryuukon

i understand the implications of using a mechanical mod but it was working fine up until i put on my rda that i was using with my sigelei-30w, it now wont produce enough power for my r2d2 tank, i don't know if i have fried the batterie or the mechanical internals. i only said i didn't know what mod it was because it doesn't have a company stamp

What is the resistance of your r2d2 tank? A mechanical mod is none adjustable and provides the voltage based on the batteries' charge. So usually fires between 3.2 - 4.0v. If you have a topper that has a high resistance build, it *will* take a couple secs to fire up that coil.

but with the RDA, you did melt your spring, which is the mod's safety feature. You will have to get a new spring (which you can probably buy off eBay or something) to make the mod work again. With the RDA, you experienced a hard short. I bet your battery was getting hot too, right?

Definitely sounds like it shorted, and sounds like the hot spring is in the button. That spring is going to have to be replaced. You could try to stretch the spring back out, but I wouldn't recommend it. Those springs go bad like that for a reason.

You'll want to test that RDA for shorts. What kind of RDA is it? Test the ohms of it on your Sigelei and see what it says. Would also help if you had a multimeter. Even if the build is fine there may be problems in the RDA itself. I wouldn't recommend trying that RDA on any other mechs until you get the problem sorted out.

As for your original question, I live in the US so don't know anything about vape shops in London, though I'm sure there are plenty around.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm going to suggest putting down the mech and doing more research on them for your safety. With that said you can't build to low of a resistance for mechs, you build to low for the battery which is where it will get dangerous. Test the rda and mech for shorts, and like previously stated it could also be the spring and you will need to find out what made it collapse. Learn ohms law, that will help keep you safe.
