I probably just significantly dated myself with that obscure reference, but it popped into my head and now it won't go away.

Anyway, I love my eGo and the XL atty/carts, right now it's my ultimate vape. I can go for hours without refilling and I get tons of vapor. (I'm not much of a dripper/dipper myself) However what I'm finding is that it's ... well, for lack of a better term, bubbly. That is, it seems like liquid easily makes its way down the sides of the atty, missing the bridge and somewhat clogging up the intake vents, resulting in some gurgling when I draw. I've given in an isopropanol bath just to make sure it was all good 'n clean (strangely it's a little more difficult than I thought finding 99% stuff around me; even the drug store only carried 70%, but I did find some) but the gurgling comes back almost immediately even when I fill a fresh cart.

Is this normal for XL atties? I'm guessing it's because the standard filler doesn't do a perfect job at trapping that much liquid (though surprisingly it's been working better than anything else I've tried). It's not a deal breaker but it's a little irritating and it does make drawing on it slightly more difficult, but I can live with it if need be. I have a couple more XL atties on the way so I'm going to see if they are any different -- they're probably the same (the one I have is a Janty, and the two I have coming are Happy Vaper-branded, though I presume they're both just branded Joyes) but I wanted to ask if this is a normal experience.

It's normal for XL and regular attys from what I have found. You may be over filling a little bit, but that's fine. As long as it's making vapor, you're good to go. Usually the gurgling will go away after a few drags. Don't worry about it.

Actually, I never got it with the 510 atty/carts unless I overfilled, just the normal air noise. With the XL it doesn't go away. If I give it a quick draw before a normal one it'll temporarily clear the passages but it'll come back next drag. Doesn't matter how full the cart is, either -- I actually suspect there's a certain but very small amount of seepage from the bridge that's making its way to the intakes. I also noticed there are only 2 vents on the XL, where there were 4 on the 510.

Like I said, it's not enough to block the intakes most of the time and a quick draw will clear it enough to drag without a problem, but after the quiet 510 atty and carts I suspected that this might not be the norm. I also tend to stand my eGo on end to let gravity bring more liquid to the bridge (it doesn't replenish quite fast enough otherwise) so that probably has something to do with it too.

Well, I've had it with every atty I've ever owned, and that's a lot. But I don't own any XL attys. I only have LR and regulars. Maybe someone else can be more help. I doubt there's anything wrong with it though.

Well, that's good to know anyway. I was afraid I got a bit of a leaky one, but if that doesn't sound out of the ordinary then I can deal with it, as there's nothing otherwise wrong with the setup. Thanks.

Well I mean don't quote me on it- just because I haven't ever tried XL's- it might not be normal for XL attys. I mean if it were making a scary noise I would be worried but gurgling seems to be a pretty common noise for atomizers. You might just be used to filling the regulars, and haven't quite gotten the hang of the XL's yet. But then again you say that it still makes that noise when it's running low. Geez, idk. I'm stumped. But I would say as long as it's not making weird noises at you or something you'll be fine. I would like to know the scientific reason for why it gurgles and your other ones don't though.

I use the same PV Mindfield and when I get that I find that either I need to blow out the atty or it's slightly flooded and I need to vape through it. Sometimes if I draw a little lighter it helps too. Another thing that seems to work for me is using the straw mod in the cartridge as this helps the air bubbles. That method is on the cart mod forum and I use coffee stirrers as the straw. All my XL eGO mega carts have one now.

It is especially annoying when you are vaping on the phone or around people...

I have two XL attys and severe leakage on both. I use the original polyfill. Either the atty is too dry or there is a pool of liquid on the table if I leave it battery down. Only way to use them is to drip.

It seems like the XL bridge just sucks up more juice than the atomizer can handle.

Is there a remedy for this? I imagine a cart mod wouldn't help. As for now, my 0.3ml 401 carts lasts longer.
