been building now for about 6 months give or take, i have 2 purple efest 30 amp and 2 sony vtc 30 amp 18650 batteries and i have been mostly hanging out at .17 - .20 ohms and getting some good cloudage but its just not competition worthy. i hear about a lot of chasers going to like .06 and lower which seems a little scary lol.

from what im told the sonys are 30 amp continuous and 60 amp pulse so you could do super sub ohms but it can make the batteries overall life shorter like it wont hold a charge anymore which is what happened to a friends sony.

basically im looking for a build that will now put me around .15 and cover some good surface area so i will get some better vapor production, im still not ready to and may never cross the threshold of that 30 amps but a lot of things lead me to believe i wont have to.

would prefer if it was a dual coil so i can put it on my new black doge, if it has to be a quad though i can put it on my CLT v1, the local shop actually ran out of 26g so i wont be able to get any of that, and i dont think they carry nichrome/royal/g-plat so just kanthal please.

my main goal for this is to have some fun and try to win some free stuff from the local cloud competitions lol.

thanks for the help ECF :)

i quite like this for clouds as you can take a nice long pull providing youve wicked it good... and you could do a dual if you like but i find a single is enough..

keep the gap in the coils of the stovetop like i have.
i use muji cotton pad to wick it.. and when i'm tightening up the post screws to fix the coil i put the handle end of some tweezers between the posts and the coil to keep a space of about 2mm.. if after the first toot you get that sizzling where the wick has run out of juice and is moving juice to the coil then you have wicked it either to tight or loose, wicking is key, you kind of wick it how you would a nano coil on a cloud of cotton, sort of snuggled.

try it :)

right on, ive done one stove top actually still have it cause it was my first coil and i just couldn't bring myself to toss it lol. i put a 24g quad dragon build on my CLT v1 that thing is spitting some vapor at .16 and i got a dual 20g 4/3 wrap ready to go for my doge gonna put that in tomorrow, or later today i guess lol.

ill try some more stove tops though and see what i come up with, i liked the one i did but the leads on it are short cause i had it in my tiny little cyclone rda and was never able to get enough cotton in it. did you wrap yours free hand and what gauge did you use and what were the ohms?

nice build :)

i use 20, 22 & sometimes 24g and aim for between 0.15-0.25Ω

have you got any ... cotton pads, they make it so much easier to wick the stovetops, it keeps all the cotton nice and uniform.

i use a pin vise to make mine, i start by cutting a piece of wire to the length that gives me my ohms i want, put a 10mm bend in one end
and hook it inbetween the teeth in the vise that hold the drill bit, hold the other end with pliers to either give slack or tension as you spin the
pin vise to keep the gaps even.

your not the first ive explained this to, maybe i should do some pics sometime to make it easier :)
