Building a nicostick

I have all the parts to build one but also bought one of those fast changing LED's from madvapes: 3mm Fast color changing led.
It comes with a 470 ohm resistor. Ok my question is now electrical math related. if using 3.7 volt battery how much voltage is lost using the led and 470 ohm resistor. Or am I thinking in amps? Its been about 17 years since my last electronics project.

The LED/resistor & the atomizer are hooked up in parallel. You'll get the same voltage across both.

It's hard to say exactly where you will end up as MV provides no specs on his LEDs.

In general we can say some are 2V and some 3V. The resistor also limits the current. In general some are 20mA some 30mA (diode forward current).

A 2V LED and a 470Ω resistor will be at 4.3mA

A 3V LED 6.4mA.

A 20mA LED will be brighter, but still well below it's rating.

Either way a 470Ω resistor will result in a rather dim output providing less than either 20 or 30mA, but this may preferred.

If you wanted a bit brighter a 330Ω should work, still well below max brightness.

The drain on your batteries will not be a big deal. It's not using much at all and you have nothing to worry about. I use slow color changing leds and a 500 ohm resistor but my mods run about 4.8 volts so and the led has plenty of brightness but I would go with a 330 ohm like WillyB says and you should be fine at 3.7 volts.
