building atty solo , safe?

I don't have an ohms meter on hand It broke but ... I was doing a build to aim for .4 maybe a bit more on some 22 gauge a1 kanthal at 5 wraps ..... now , this was supposed to be done on a 1/8 drill bit but I only had a 3 mm screw / Stanley type deal . anyways .. I did 6 wraps ... so honestly I have no idea what my coil is chucking at right now all I know is I have my 35 amp e fest battery in my mod and this build chucks pretty well for being so random and on the spot . I was just basically getting an old coil out late at night .. I am sure I will rebuild tomorrow some time but .. would you feel this is safe for now? I am curious about the comments ...

You likely got lucky, but if you'd have had any shorts it could have been bad. I wouldn't do it again if I were you. If you're using a regulated mod you're a little better off but not much.

Yeah...according to steam-engine you should be alright with 6 wraps of 22 around a 3mm. Get yourself a ohm checker, use a multi-meter, or even an APV. Only takes one bad time to really ruin your day.

Sure it's safe - unless you mess up and the coil is touching the cap or a screw works loose or you break a leg and don't see it or mess up your center post adjustment or...

So the answer is - bad idea. I don't give anyone a free pass building blind. You take the chances you take the risks.
