built my first coil yay...well maybe not. got myself a kayfun clone to try this out. first coil i did measured out at 1.6 ohms, roughly what i was going for....but as i used it, or tried to, the resistance fluctuated massively between 6 ohms and 0.3...so i figured ts shorting somewhere...nasty dangerous, and binned it, so tried again.

second attempt much more consistent, a steady 2.0 ohms...a bit higher than i was aiming for, (aout 1.5 i was thinking) but one or two less wraps next time, im happy with it. only downside is the performance..till now been usng kanger protank 2 and aero tank, with 1.5 and 2 ohm coils respectively, and quite happy with the amount of vape from both...but with the kayfun, vapour is poor to say the least, even cranking the voltage up to max (6v). flavour is ok,(just ok, and no better than my kangers) and though im not trying to cloud chase, would like a little more exhale evidence, which is poor compared with my kangers.

im thinking its maybe a wicking isssue, as the coil looks ok, but would love to hear from you on any suggestions you might have.

the mod im using is a mini lambo, im aware it doesnt have a great deal of power, but it works just fine with my kangers, so , do you suggest a different resistance build coil, or a different wicking technique?

ok new territory for me here was working on what i knew of ohms law and battery safety, didnt know the mod would have an amps limit...how would i find that out?

You would have to search for the specs on the version of the mod you are using.

But a protank or aerotank is probably using extremely thin wire in the replaceable coil heads... maybe 34 gauge. At the same ohms and with the same power, this protank wire is going to heat up faster than the lower gauge wire that you are using to build the kayfun.

i believe it has something to do with the lambo due to it being a regulated device

that's a possibility...was concerned about the coil touching the deck..maybe pulled it too far away...thanks for that..pic would be helpful about the angle though, if anyone can manage that...the youtube vids ive seen so far dont mention that

It should be like 45 degrees in relation to the screws. Once wicked, the wick should look like either an 'S' or a 'Z', with the tails lying flat on the deck and not restricting the juice channels.

Being on a regulated should not matter at 2 ohms. Like I said, I use mine exclusively on regulated mods, with a far lower amp cap than I'm sure yours has. I always use watts mode, and keep it at 11-15.
