It's a generic 510 model from mad vapes: MadVapes 5 Volt 510 Manual USB Passthrough

It still works but I have to wiggle the switch a bit. I'm wondering if it can be saved or if it will be trash when the switch fails completely. If that's the case, I'll probably yank the connector out somehow and use it in a mod.

I have the same Pasthrough. Absoluetely love it! I am assuming that they use the same switch and chipboard that is used on a standard proprietary battery. These chipboards, if I am not mistaken, have a mosfet unit which allows these small switches to survive the strain of vaping. When I started modding, I went through handfulls of those little switches and it sounds to me like yours is starting to burn out. Having to wiggle it to make it work is a very common symptom of a dying switch.

Basically what is happening is that the contact area on your switch litterally burns and can no longer make continuity with the other side of the switch. That's why if you wiggle it, it works. It contacts at a different point.

Okay I've gotten a bit technical so I'll digress....

Honestly, replacing the switch in these is not an option. How long have you had it? Still under warranty maybe?

You can use it to make your own passthrough though. It would be easy.

Yeah, I had the same one too. Lasted about a month, gave out. Failed "on". Wiggling switch didn't help. IDK what the deal is. Someday, ill tear it apart and see if the switch is still ok.....

Made my own (using madvapes parts not the old PT). Still going strong. Had a usb cable, so it was actually no more expensive, probably less. :2c:
