Cleaned some cartos yesterday. Did the boil and then oven method to dry. Put them at 175 for an hour. 3 of them weren't completely dry and when I tried them a white foam came out there the center hole for the atomizer is and the then the terrible burnt smell. I had already order some spares and the others are fine. Just thought i'd share a warning.
Oh. love this forum.

I think maybe they were in the oven too long. I tried 45 minutes once and some of my cartos tasted funny. So I am back down to half hour max, and let them sit overnight too. I also do it at 175 degrees. Before I used to just let them airdry but then they sometimes needed 2 or 3 days for that. At least with the oven it's just one night, if at all.

How many times are you boiling them? Are you blowing them out after you have finished boiling them? Wonder what that white foam is.

I think it just takes time to perfect your method, and there will be mess-ups along the way..

Congrats on your quit cslane. I personally haven't had much luck with cleaning cartos, I lose about 50% or more....Now I only use the survivors to taste test new juices. IMHO it's not really worth the trouble, they last long enough to help absorb the cost of not washing. Just remember to use coupon codes and do bulk buys. You can really save more shopping wisely. Good luck!

Read up on the taryn spin. If you have those rubber tipped reading eyeglass holders around, a carto fits in the end. Put a condom loosely on the end with space to catch the water and spin it. Socks and a rubber band is more of a pain, but also works. Better yet since you are in California, spin it outside and let the water fly. Spinning gets most of the water out and then they air dry overnight. A quick rinse with Everclear/PGA/vodka will dry much faster than water too.

Baking polyfil in an oven never seemed like a good idea to me.

Just place your cleaned cartos next to your computer fan and don't get in a rush. Any wet (non-joose) vaping device sux and only guarantees disappointment and failure!

BTW, I ain't bakin' nuttin' related to vapin'!
