I bought the triton kit, put the juice in and then about an hour later started vaping. I immediately tasted something nasty, let my friend try it and she also said that its not supposed to taste like that. So I let it sit a while, tried it again and tasted the same thing. Left it alone till the next day and tasted the same thing. So I dumped all the juice out and rinsed it out. After it was rinsed and dried I noticed that the material thread part was burned. Is this normal? Did it burn? Could it be defective? Since then I used 4 different clearomizers (the thing you put the juice in) and haven't tasted the same thing or seen the "burning" on the "thread". Any ideas? Thanks.

It's possible that the coil had a bit of a short, making it burn much hotter than normal. You were tasting the burnt flavor.

If you have a multi tester (or can borrow one), check the resistance of that coil. It should be at 2.2 to 2.4 ohms. If you can't get a multimeter (they are under $7 at Harbor Freight), you could put the coil into an empty tank without the black top and without the inner condom and top flavor wick and the little silver cap on top of the coil head. Give it a few short bursts. You should see all of the coil wire start to glow red. If only half is glowing, that might be the problem.

Just throwing this out there, if the tank and wicks are dry, dont press the button.
If there is no liquid and the coil inside heats up, all its going to do is burn the wick leaving a burnt spot and making all your juice taste nasty.
If it is burnt, you have two options. Either buy a replacement coil head (or if you are technically skilled, replacement wicks and rethread it). Or in a pinch, gently twist the wick slightly and pull the burnt spot out of the middle so clean wick is in the coil.

I got one tank/wick new out of the package like that before. There are times when factory primer is still coated on the wicks and can give a very bad taste. I've learned to rinse ALL my new wicks/tanks out and let them dry prior to use.

Also, some juices are higher in VG and require a lot longer to soak the wicks.

I think what happened is that I let it "sizzle", pushing the button first for way too long and then inhaling it. So probably user error. I haven't tried the juice again but soon will.
Start to inhale just as you hit the button, then let go of the button and continue to draw. This helps cool the coil. It'll last much longer this way. This tip thanks to Evie Luv.

I have a vivi nova bottom dual coil tank that's rather noisy. You can hear the juice and coils still sizzling a second after I let go of the power. I'm glad I continue to draw.

Thanks, Evie!
