That is really weird. I don't think I've even heard of a carto just popping like that. Attys yes, cartos no. I ordered 2 boxes of the black ones. My first order was the purple and the tan ones. I'll keep an eye out for ones that pop and go poof.

The weirdest thing on the planet. And you're right, I know that atomizers do that, but I've never seen a carto behave like this. Just a few puffs and ...poof.

Anyway, I'm sending both cartos back to Ross tomorrow, he and the manufacturer need to see them and figure out what is going on.

And you're still on detention, BTW. Conduct unbecoming. :D

Oh baby! You know that I missed you ever-so-much! Sadly, I came back a bit early because I have a family health issue down in Saint Louis. Sooo.. in a few minutes I mount my trusty steed (she hates it when I call her that!).. then I drive down South to take care of my father.

Hospitals have pretty good WiFi access.... so I'm sure you'll be hearing from me on-and-off (I could insert another off-color pun right here.. but naw).

Welcome back, Scott! So sorry to hear about your Dad. Hope he gets better soon.

They might like that...Depending on how you're going to detent them;-)

Thanks so much! I am diligently trying to sort my way through all of the information, and I am currently looking into whether I want to stick with prefilled cartos or attempt to fill my own. Heck, I am so new to this, I have yet to even see what a burnt carto tastes like! LOL!

Let us know what kind of PV and cartos you're using so we can better guide you.

What it tastes like? You'll find out sooner or later.:D

Bingo! Finally somebody's paying attention. Total dud. Dead. No burnt filler. The filler doesn't even get a chance to burn. It's a flash and smoke and bye, bye, Charlie. No reading whatsoever on my multimeter. Dead as a doorknob.

Yep. That's how the one trueman went. No burnt taste even.

Yankee:

I hope it works for you. Don't forget that you can switch the hardware/software backwards to an older version of Windows. I cannot recall where that function is but I know it is available. It has been so darned long since I tweaked my system for cams not to mention the years since lupus has been turning my dratted brain to mush when it comes to memory... I wish I could tell you exactly where the function is that allows you to pull it to backwards compatible to former windows versions but for the life of me I can't.

Anyhow, I hope it helps you out in some way. If my suggestions don't work, perhaps they will give you some type of idea that sends you in the right direction.

All my best to you and your efforts to keep the video reviews coming.

I wish I was able to do video reviews but since I can't, I write reviews and post them where the blind (high partials, mid-partials, low-partials, and totally blind) can find them as well as those with muscle weakness in their hands and people with autoimmune diseases. The loss of nerve function and grip strength is a major hassle. It's easy to drop even an ink pen from a hand with no grip strength. Of course there is the better health that comes from giving up analogs too.

Good luck...

Well, I was going to try a video review of the 801 carto, but decided it wasn't worth the time and effort, so I'll just wrap up my findings here.

Basicly, don't bother with a 801 carto. Unfortunatly I don't know the manufacturer, but the carto looks exactly like an average 801 atty, with a gold thread. Instead of an cartrige, it's just the tip and the filling material is in the body. The draw is very hard, I tried it on my Stick v3, and my Maco, on both the draw was very hard.

Looking into the carto it's like most cartos, in that there is a coil (that I couldn't see) with a wire running verticaly. The filler is very tightly packed in, and (probably the reason for the hard draw) no vent tube like in almost all other cartos.

Being I hardly use my 801s anyway, this was a test out of curriosity more than anything, and only if I had discovered the holy grail of cartos would I have used this on any regular basis. Being it was given to me by a supplier, (who got them to test, and doesn't not currently carry them) I have no idea the cost.

I can post pics if requested, but don't think it worth the time unless someone realy wants to see it. :)
