i do like a fried bologna sandwich as long as the green peppers are slowly cooked where they melt in your mouth! ;) but it's not leberkaese! :D

Close enough for me...:D

What I really miss is real German baumkuchen ... A childhood treat. There is a German bakery in Orange County that makes it, but it's a longish drive. Yummmm.

for leberkaese i'll stop anywhere! :D
send me a pm for that supplier, please! ;)
Hi Ms. Tibs! Sure thing, I'll send you that PM. Ummm. I did a oopsie - it wasn't leberkasen, it was Fleischkase. Some kind of pork and beef 'family loaf' - but it was pretty decent. I baked it yesterday and already ate half the loaf! *weight here* LOL! The ketchup and mustard were killer. I don't think I can wait to cook the Schnitzel though - I'm thinking tonight! And brats mit brotchen sounds good for breakfast.. hehheeee

Yea! Just about anything from the backeri was excellent. The first time I was stationed in Germany (Melkendorf - not far from Bamberg) we had a backeri in our little town. I'd walk there and get all kinds of tasty stuff. LORD, I sure miss those days! And of course, in true German tradition, the town had its own brewery with a Gasthaus. I had quite a few beers there too!

OK. I'm back to topic again. vaping. I've been using the silica wick in my Genisis and I have to change out coils between 1 to 4 days; it gets too carmelized. Dry-burning can only go so far. I also have a small brass brush to clean it after dry-burn, but it doesn't make too much difference in coil life.
I think that it is the VG in the juice. That, and the flavourings put in the juice..
JMHO though.

I was admitted to the hospital a few days ago, but it was no big deal. I'm just about recovered, but I always loose a little bit with each episode. Everything I do is getting harder and slower, but I will not give up.

It don't look like I missed much while I was gone. Just a bunch of jabber.
Glad you're back, BR! And doing OK. Yea, we just chatting a bit about the German food we remember and love. Some things will always stay with you.

Glad you are back BR !!!

I keep seeing these food posts and getting hungry !

Regretfully most of my food is through a PEG tube, so I don't get hungry. The third dentist appointment for my choppers was yesterday, so maybe I'll be able to eat a T-bone steak before long.

OT: "Calling all FOODIES.." heheheeee so anyways, Ms. Tibs, have you ordered any fine German foods yet? I've been seriously enjoying that Kronung coffee! It's the 'mild' blend. I have to call them this morning and see if they can fix my order - I think some of the stuff was spoilt a bit. And they overcharged me for the coffee. Not happy about that. Anyways, I'm planning to order some more coffee from them - a variety pack..
Toke & Sip!
OK, I'm back on Topic now...
