Yankee's review of the SS carto (below, originally post 675), featuring the tweezers from Johnson Creek.

I agree that the SS cartos are performing very well, possibly a bit better than other 4081 cartos I've tried so far, but the difference is small. I'm using the Good Prophets cartos and the SS cartos at the moment and like them both. If you are anything like WW or Yankee and can use the same carto for days, you should choose SS without a doubt. But for those who like a fresh carto every couple of days, like I do, the SS prices might be a problem. As far as burn resistance goes, they are comparable. I'm waiting for the Aqua Vapor 4081s with great interest.

Their batteries are also very good, even though their life is very short. They are autos but they don't require the primer puff, making them perform very much like a cig.

don't think there was a video, but the little plastic tube that slips over the tweezers and keeps them together was just the right diameter to slip over the carto sock.
now, i have those tweezers but was not able to repeat yankee's feat.
i think it is easier to earmark a carto for a certain flavor and stick with it for the duration instead of trying to clean the carto.

Thank you both!! I have several pairs of tweezers with caps on them like that, so I'll have to try it again sometime. I'm like you Katya, I like to get 5-7 days if I can from a carto then toss it because they never taste right after that and I've never had luck with cleaning them. I was just going to see what the SS one was like after being cleaned. Ya know the curiousity thing :)

I fully agree about the SS batteries. I hate auto batteries and I actually like the SS battery! It preforms very well and for it's small size lasts a lot longer than I expected it would.

i just looked at vaporjunction and he is having a sale on a lot of items, one being single 510 cartomizers for $1.35. anyone ordered from them before? are they boge, the picture looks like it has silver threads? how much/ how fast is shipping?

I've never ordered from there before so I'm no help. I looked at the carto picture and it does appear to be silver threads but it's hard to tell and the color in the threads might just be washed out in the picture. You may want to email them and ask what brand they are.

Well I made it about 12 hours with the SS carto at 4.9 volts then burned it. Funny thing about this one, when I went to pull the filler out to inspect it, the filler was caught on the bottom like the SLB 510s are. I had to rip it out. And I found a nice burn hole as I expected I would. This only shows that I can not vape at higher voltage LOL. I still think the SS carto is very burn resistant if used at 4.2 volts or lower. So for me the best cartos so far are the SS, the SLB 510 and the regular 4081s. I'm still waiting on my order from WordUp to see if their KR808s are like the SLB 510s or not and how well the hold up.

Happy Vaping!!!

Little help, please...

510 low resistance cartomizers...why the burning??? OMG, I've filled three of these so far and two of them have burned on the first drag. Mind you, I've been filling up 510 carto's for a couple of months now and have not had this issue. Used the condom and spin method...at least 40 drops in that last one...got two non-burny taste hits and then bam! Burny. :( Using standard 510 auto batt...scared to death to put them on even a 3.7! What is up with this??? Anyone??

High suicide rate in China, poor quality control, inconsistency..... what else is new...time to get some USA/European manufacturers to get serious!!

Bianca, you don't have to throw away your LR cartos, some people use them successfully (including Lorikay and Bssage) but on lower voltage batteries (like 3.1-3.2v), no more. If your batteries are 3.6 or 3.7v, you should use HR cartos only. There are a lot of them from different vendors and different threads. I really liked the SLB 510 from IkenVape and LiteCig; Turbos and V4L CoolCarts (kr808) and almost all 4081s.

Above 5v, you're on your own! :D

There's plenty of good info earlier in this thread on what and where to buy and how to use it, just go back a little (like the last 500 posts or so).:p

bssage...that is an AWESOME tip!!! YES....don't throw away your LR's....dang...great idea!

okay kids...remember me talking about Vapors Etc....a new store that sells 510 and KR8 cartos and gear pluse handmade,USA sourced juice? And I said I bought the cartos just cuz they were cheap? Well guess what.....:)
These 510 cartos rock! Go here for my explanation as to why
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...17-another-winner-vapors-etc.html#post1524330

Here is the problem....apparently they have recieved some complaints....who knows why....and are thinking of switching vendors. Oh NO!!! folks...I'm talking less than a $10 investment here including shipping. $15 if you take the plung and order a sample pack of juice, $5.50 for 5 3ml bottles. I admit....so far I have only bought on 5 pack of these cartos so MAYBE I just got lucky....but I don't think so. Is anyone willing to give thes a try ? I'm not working for these guys....this is totally selfish motivation....I like these cartos and want them to keep selling them. But we need to help them figure out what peoples problem may be with them. I have faith in the Carto Super Heros! :D Go buy a package and then lets compare notes and see what we can figure out. Unfortunately this is a little store that buys from a middle man so they don't even know who manufactures these things. But I have never seen anything like them. (the kr8's are kangers...don't bother...they are already working on a replacement for those) So go check 'em out and see what you think!
btw....within one week of my comment about adding a flavor boost option on the wbsite...there it is....and the Kanger XL extended draw batteries will be up within 2 weeks.

ps....Katya...don't throw me in there with the LR club :p...I do NOT use them and never will....what I use is technically a moderate resistance carto...2.5-2.9. That is what these Vapor Etc cartos are. although bssage's tip is tempting. ;)

really emonty? Would YOU like to take a job sitting in a factory for 10-12 hrs a day at $1 an hour? Because THAT is why USA/European manufacturers don't get serious.....unless of course your willing to pay $30 a five pack for cartos. :D

Yes...there are problems with mass produced products from China.....but what really is the alternative ? There is also one more dirty little secret here....it's called "not in my backyard"....China does not have environmental laws regarding industrial waste and runoff.....another reason they are so cheap. Anybody want to live next door to the factory that produces ANY of the stuff we use to vape with????

be careful what you wish for.....

yea...yea...totally off topic....my bad...wasn't me...was the evil twin.

woohoo! Thanks Katya :) You should try the vanilla tobacco....I know you would like that one....did you get extra flavor or just the regular? One thing I'll tell you....be carefull taking off the caps....they are the hardcap and if you stick a pick or something too far in there when removing the cap you will break the wire loose and then it will seem like a dud...I fill these with a syringe...just stick it through the cap at an angle and work your way around....and be sure to blow it out before you try to vape it incase you overfilled. It's sounding like that is the problem here...people are STILL using the condom method for these male threaded cartos....flooding them and then complaining about no vapor. I know you know better...I'm just saying that as a reminder for anyone new.

heheh...I see you Ross :) That tip about filling...that's probably the problem....you MUST keep that air chamber clear of juice....between the bottom of the carto tube and the threads....otherwise no airflow...ergo...no vapor.
