Hi Everyone!,

Still been reading and getting confused on a regular basis :) but I do have a question.

I finally bought some of the 510 cartos from IkenVape and am wondering if it is "normal" for them to look half way filled with material.

Also the one I have tried seems pretty airy as well. Again, I have lost track between all the different discussions so can someone give me another good burn resistant suggestion? One that doesn't seem as airy. I do realize that is somewhat subjective. Thanks.

I have not tried the Ikenvape cartos but it sounds like all other 510 SLB cartos. The material should be about 3/8 inchs below the top. The new 510 SLB cartos are more on the airy side because there is less material. i was very disappointed when I first saw the new ones but I like them much better now for the following reasons.
it is a lot easier to suck the vapor once you get used to it.
I wash my cartos and when I do, the filler material tends to expand and make the draw harder. So the ones that were not airy originally will become very hard to draw vapor.
Also after the washing, when that filler starts to expand inside, it will start demanding a lot more juice and starts choking the coil inside not letting it breath the vapor out.

I am definitely getting my money's worth on these cartos. started vaping on June 3rd and been alternating between 10 cartos and they are all still going. I have thrown two of them away only because the coil was getting too gummed up. When I took the filler out and fired them up, a big cloud of black tarrish vapor popped out which kind of cleaned the coil.

Thanks nicnac. This is the first time I have used a 510 carto so was a little surprised to see the amount of filler. It does give very good vapor but I feel like I am drawing on it forever.

Yank so sorry to hear. Good luck.

Sky when I first got an Iken it was airy but after I filled it it got better. Maybe I just got used to it. I love these cartos I used one for over 2 weeks and it never burnt.

WW any tips on filling the ego cartos? I'm getting some this week

Hi zelda,

Maybe it will get better with a little time then. Very happy to hear about the no burning. I do have have faith in Isaac though as far as not selling something that is sub-par.

Hi sky,

The filler is normal for this design. As the coil is horizontal in these instead of vertical the filler does not need to be as high. It actually does make these perform better imho. I have noticed that cartos are airy on some of my devices, but not on others. What battery or mod are you using and are you using an adapter or a native 510 connection? Either way you should be getting good vapor production even if it is airy. Have you tried more than one carto and or device?

Ummm be ready for a mess. My one that works is sitting off to the side right now in hopes that someone will find a better way of filling them or I have more time to try to figure it out. ScottBee had a very good tip of make sure to hold it over an open bottle when filling because some juice will come out the bottom and this way you don't lose it.

I have more coming and I think when I can fill 3 at a time like right before bed then have them to use the next day it will be better. With only one I had to stop right when I was busiest working and was trying to do it fast. Needless to say I made more of a mess than I should have so it's off to the side for now. I do like how the cartos perform, but the refilling needs some work.

Happy Vaping!!!

Hi WW,

Thanks for responding. At this point I have tried only one but will be filling another up today. I am so used to the KR8's being stuffed full I didn't know if maybe these were made wrong. I know Isaac wouldn't have time to check them all. I actually like them better this way, just wasn't sure. Maybe I will try one on a KR8 with an adapter and compare how airy that is. Could be I'm just used to cartos anymore. :)

Some 510's have more filling than others even within the same brand. I think once you get used to them you will love them. At least for me I won't be using kr8's anymore unless the new Turbo carts I have on order are really good. I am one of those people that likes an easy draw so I don't like my carts over stuffed. I have always had good luck with the Boge 510's.
oh yeah....510 cartos on a KR8 battery....great!! Ross at Vapor Etc is still waiting for his XL extended draw batteries...hopefully this week! For me it's the best setup there is for an all day Auto. I still don't know why someone isn't making an auto mod?!?!?!? My favorite vape is still the Smoke Stik but for something that lasts and lasts while driving or whatever...KR8/510 is great.

Tiburon.....remember the gator guy who for some reason we thought had tried Royal Smokers? I pm's him and asked him where he got them....he said he was sorry if we misunderstood but he had never tried RS cartos and the ones he was talking about were the Boge blanks.

ps...along the lines of dry cartos that are supposed to be filled....my new favorite tip....keep a dropper bottle of either PGA or distilled water on your desk. Before even taking the first hit put ONE DROP into the center of the carto.....that way if it is dry at least you won't burn it out because the coil will be wet.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. We were blessed enough to find space at another campground, so for now everything is fine. Of course now I am unemployed and we have to pay for our site rent, but we'll get by.

I have dialed to 4.0v on my BUZZ and am working on my supply of 510s from LiquidExpress with my TW juices. Vaping very nice. I'll play around here and there and will eventually post my findings.

Ok here's the pics of the Trueman 4081 carto with the vertical wire.

I used this for a little more than 4 days and ran around 9 mil of juice through it. At the very end it became extremely hard to draw on, but it was great up to then. I did attempt to wash this one out but the draw was still hard. You will see in the pics that there is a small burn and I believe that happened probably on the last couple drags after it got clogged. I never detected any burning at all until the very end.

The design is much like the Kanger cartos with the vertical wire having a coil in the center that is wrapped around fibers. The fibers in the Trueman carto are more like cotton rope than the fiberglass looking fibers of the Kanger cartos. Also the filler itself is a much better quality. Filling this thing was a dream. The juice soaked right in, no waiting, very smooth flowing. I believe the quality of the filler is the reason for this and also what allows it to wick so much better and not burn. Not sure why it clogged so suddenly at the end, but it did.

So here are the pics... only did 2 to keep it small, but they show everything.

thanks so much, witchway:)

i also used one of the cartos with wire and thought the performance dropped off after about 9ml. the only difference for me though was the time span. since i'm apparently a light vaper that carto lasted me a good week.
:vapor:
i still think the cartos without the wire [your yellow one] perform a little better. is that next on your try-out list?
one more question, with your huge selection of cartos have you come across any identical to the truemans?

Hi everyone....good news! Vapors Etc
has informed me that they have a tracking number on the XL batteries...and...drumroll please.....Softcap,colored Trueman cartos!!!! woohoo!!!! I am double checking but I believe Ross will be carrying both the KR8's and the 510's. I doubt he will carry the 4081'a as he does not carry those batteries. But if there was a big enough interest in adapters for the KR8 batteries to 4081 cartos and the 4081 cartos I'm sure he would order some .....so check in here and let me know how many of you would like to be able to use 4081 cartomizers with Kr8 or 510 batteries.
