Hey guys, I received a 5 pack of Mega 510 LR cartos from Ken last week.

I was excited and drip filled the first with some OMG from KBV (60/40 VG/PG) using the 45 degree angle method, about 55 drops then let it sit about 30min before trying it on my Silver Bullet (the only device I have) with about a 5 second drag I ended up with a pretty nasty burnt taste.. I'm pretty inexperienced so I figured I would just let it rest and keep on trying but the bad taste persisted.

Next I filled one with Mad Vapes RootBeer and it worked great, huge flavor - awesome.

Yesterday I received some Gourmet Vapor Maiden Coffee and Tiramisu (40/60 VG/PG) and decided to try them out in these cartos. Same thing happened as with the OMG juice, persistent bad/burnt taste from the start and I keep trying it to see if it will go away, let it sit overnight with the same thing.

I'm pretty disappointed but since I'm a newb I assume it's probably something I'm doing wrong and no fault of the hardware. Is the Silver Bullet possibly overpowered for these LR cartos? I've had good success with everything I've tried so far in standard Boge and the 2.4ohm CE2 in my MAP tank.

What voltage are you using them on? If 3.7 is it a fresh off the charger battery?

I just took the first one apart and it didn't appear to have actually burnt anything, both layers of filler are white, the inner tube is white though the center of the wick where the coil wraps around was a bit blackened but I'm guessing that's normal.

So I just topped off the last problem carto I'm still trying to use with Maiden Coffee until the juice dripped out the bottom hole just to make sure its full and I'm trying to stick with it and vape it but its still got that taste.. though its starting to seem not so bad, maybe I'm getting used to it?

This is 24mg juice and I tend to unconsciously french inhale a lot to get extra flavor/smell, I've only been vaping a couple weeks now so maybe it has something to do with increased TH from the higher wattage and I'm just not used to it? The RootBeer that I said is awesome in these is only 16mg. Or maybe its these dark juices have tendency to taste burnt with the higher wattage?

I have no idea, I certainly don't mean to disparage what I'm sure is a very high quality product - even more so now that I've disassembled one.

Semms like to me it might be the flavor of the liquid you are using. I know the OMG flavor is more of a coffee type of flavor so maybe it just does not hold up in the cartomizer and tends to scorch and burn on the coil. To me this would be the only logical explination if you are uisng the same cartomizer with a different flavor and it does not taste burnt.

That's what I'm starting to think too, though I haven't re-used any of them yet, 3 separate cartos with coffee type juices which had the scorched taste and one which tastes great with the RootBeer. Good idea though I will test out one of the cartos that tasted burnt with the Rootbeer once it dries out, I reverse taryn spun them to empty the juice and now have them soaking in good vodka.

edit: next morning I tried the rootbeer in the same carto and it tastes great again, so it was the juice not holding up at the higher wattage. Thanks for the replies!

Yep, I have a lot of juices that cant handle the low resistance, I actually was gonna say that it might be the juice but I have been at work so someone beat me to it. I actually have juices for all voltages because some that are great at low voltage tase like crap at hv and vice versa. I am glad you figured it out though. Its always a bummer when one of your faves dont get along with certain cartos but its just part of the game unfortunately.
