well what device you using? what ohm carto you using? this happens to me because i forget to fill up carto before i put a fresh battery on. once the battery is fresh, it pushes more v to the carto (the most v's it can at a full charge) so the coil heats up faster and hotter then it would on a half or 3/4 drained battery would, therefore needing more juice. if your carto is low it could get that burnt taste. try filling it up and see if it happens.

I've noticed my 18650's typically put out around 4.1v fresh off the charger and taper down to around 3.9v after a little while. Using a 1.5 ohm atty would put you at over 11 watts which can be a little hot for some liquids or equipment. Unfortunately I can't think of a good solution other than starting off with a higher resistance atty when the batteries are fully charged.

Fresh off the battery is the highest voltage you'll get. It will take a few puffs before the voltage drops off or you can just unscrew the carto and hold the button to drain the batteries down some. I'm a high voltage vaper so I know I'm not much help other than what I suggested. My preference for a good vape is a 1.6ohm at 6V...so you see why I said I'm not much help.
