i have been vaping for about 3 months now, using a dse 801 penstyle, and the longest i have been able to use an atty is 12 days. first the vapor production beging to decline, so i blow it out and/ or alcohol soak it, and the first few pulls are excellent than the vapor trails off rapidly. and a day or two later the whole thing dies all of a sudden. is this an acceptable/normal amount of time? my girlfriend uses the same model and she has gotten almost 2 and a half months out of hers. am i pulling too hard, too long, too often?

I use to use the 801 a lot and same thing happened to me and another person I know got like 2 or 3 months out of an atty. Finally figured it out. At least to my satisfaction.

the juice I was using vs. what she was using..

She did menthol. very clear juice..

I used coffees and tobaccos. very dark..

I dont know what you vape so it might not be the problem but was for me.

801s tend to do what you describe in about 1-2 weeks of use.

I now went to 510s and cartomizers but mostly 510s and do much better..

12 Days... Lucky you! With my 510 I get only 7 days!
I reduced the mg per ml a lot but I vape a lot.

Do the other person uses the same liquid as you ? Do she vapes the same qty per day ? Is she dripping ? so many factors....

I have a bag of dead atties, a bag not dead but unusables atties and a bag of poor performers. I should throw away the dead ones and the unusables ones and just keep the poor performers as backups.

I like new atties : the vapor is so much better. :)
Of course I would like them to last forever but one atty a week is cheap compared to real cigarettes.

Happy Vaping

i am using TV custom flavors; cinnamon, pecan, vanilla, and a cherry lime. also these liquids have darkened significantly, and the flavor of the cherry lime is now quite bitter, is this normal. my GF uses the TV butter rum and there has been no noticable color change. should the juices be refrigerated?

you dont need to refrigerate them at all.

I noticed though that candied flavors seem to clog attys more easily also..

have you tried any 302 attys or BE112s since you like the 801s?
these all fit the 801 connector.

another problem is the primer. i seem to just get that nasty taste out of my PV and the thing dies on me. i like vaping a LOT but this is becoming REALLY frustrating. thanks for the info/ comments

some attys have more primer than others. 801s are bad about putting a lot in them.. I always just blow it out as much as I can and drip about 4 drops to prime and blow out the first few hits to get rid of the taste.

that's a great tip thanks. i have only tried 801 attys from ecigsupply.com but the mesh wick pushes the polyfill too far into the cart, so i have just started dripping, by taking the cart off of the mouthpiece and dripping 2 or 3 drops directly onto the atty. this is my first day of doing that, but i get great vapor and less of that polyfill taste.

dripping is best and you wont go back after.. ecigsupply has some good attys.
