My daughter has the smoke 51 trio. She's been using it for about a week now. Today she say she's getting a burnt taste smell and she's not "feeling" the hit much so I thought maybe her atty had died or was dirty but she is getting plenty of vapor, which from what I've read means the atty is fine?

She has tried switching to new cart and diff flavors. Seemed to be working fine yesterday.

Does anyone know what could be the issue?

Also, anyone know what atty will fit the Trio since their parts are so overpriced?!

Thanks to you all! Without the help of these forums I'd have given up on the entire ecig thing by now! lol

Burnt taste can mean:

1. Burnt fiber in the cart. The cart is too dry. This would also result in reduced taste and reduced throat hit since there is not enough juice. To remedy this, change the cart out with a new full cart.

2. Burnt liquid in the atty. To remedy this, take it off and blow through the bottom while holding a tissue over the top. You will see brown liquid on the tissue.

3. Plastic cart is actually burnt. The bottom of the cart near your atty might be sort of a rectangle shape rather than a perfect circle. If the cart is not lined up with the atty, the cart plastic can melt and burn. To remedy this, make sure that rectangle on your cart lines up with the wick in your atty.

Good luck getting this resolved!

Edit: My guess is that #1 is the problem, possibly combined with #2. If she is new to vaping, it is difficult to know when to change your cart since they still produce vapor. As soon as the flavor or throat hit is reduced or begins tasting funny, you should put on a new cart (even if the cart is still producing vapor).
