Hello everyone:),
wondering if you could help me with a problem.Just bought the Joy Ego mega atty, battery and cartridges and for some reason there is a harsh burnt taste when I vape.I know when you buy a new one it can taste bad ..and already went through all that. The vape was fine for a day or so of light vaping(Still was using analogs as well-getting adjusted) but now have burnt taste no matter what,Tried changing the cartridge, blowing the atty out(Don't think too much gunk could have got stuck as its new)tried a new liquid but still this burnt taste is happening, any suggestions?

Hi. In most cases with an atty system going harsh it's because it's dry. The harsh/burnt taste you are getting is from sucking on a dry atty. And those eGo Mega's are big and need to suck up a lot of liquid.

Try this: If you drip two or three drops of liquid directly onto the atty does the problem go away? At least for a few hits? If it does then your atty isn't getting enough liquids from the cartridge filler.

If that's the case you are either under filling or not refilling the cartridge often enough. (It should be almost dripping soggy.) Or you might be filling it enough, but the filler has pushed down into the cart and is not making good contact with the atty. Pull it up with the venerable paper clip so the filler is flush with the edge of the cartridge. The filler will get pushed back into the cart slightly when it comes in contact with the atty. Every so often it needs to be pulled back up a bit.

There is another possibility: "other." It might just be a fluke with this atty. Could be it's become a mess by trying to fix it, vape it while dry, fix it, vape it while dry again... Some times it's just better to clean it and start all over. Since it's seen very little use the only thing I would do to it for cleaning is very hot water. I stand my attys on end in a single egg poacher pan full of water and put that on the lowest possible flame I get off my gas stove. (A roiling boil is not necessary.) Having forceps to handle the atty - and pick it up and "scoop" hot water through it - helps. Just a couple minutes once the water is simmering will do. Take it out and when cool blow as much water as you can out of it, prime the atty with several drops of liquid - at least 4 for a Mega atty - and let that sit and soak up for a minute or two, and start again.
