I just picked one of these up and it's a slick little torch. Works great for wire and mesh. It's a 503 Torch and there are a few online shops that carry 'em.

Is the base at the bottom of the Model # 330194 removable, or is permanently attached?

I looked at it tonight and it looks like you can take out two screws and a bottom plate and remove the base and then put the bottom plate back on. I haven't tried it though. The base really doesn't get in the way. It fits nicely in my small tackle (coil building) box.

This is the exact lighter that I bought from the same seller on eBay. Shipping was Fast, had it in 3-4 days.

Though it says empty, there will be some fluid in, but not enough to do much work. You'll need to get a can (not the bottle) of butane fuel to fill it with. Easy to use & produces good flame.

Good to know! I was wondering about being able to stash it in the tacklebox with my other vape stuff. Thanks for the reply!

I've also been considering the pocket cigar lighter type torches - smaller form factor sounds convenient. After a little bit of reading, though, sounds like durability after a coupe refills seems to be the weak link there. Cheapos and the more expensive name band versions too. Yours lasted awhile? At 6 bucks, not too big a deal if you get a few months out of it. :)

Actually I've only used it once on my first set of coil building, so time will tell.

I tried to find one locally, but everything was big & I didn't want that large of a tank in the apartment. If I still was a homeowner & had a shop out back, that would be different. Should this one go, I'll look harder locally.

There is JR tobacco near where I live, they likely have Torch lighters of the Ronson or Zippo brand, the Ronson costing less. They had the Ronson torch lighters at the local WalMart, but not now. Zippo would likely be more costly.
