Button on the Prodigy V2

Does anyone else have a problem with the button on their Prod V2?

Mine is a bit tricky and I have to press it just right to make a connection.

Is there a easy fix for this?
What about that replacement button they sell as a option, does that one work better, or is it just a replacement of the same button?

It's a bit frustrating, but not a serious problem.
If fixing is simple, I would like to do it.

Try just taking it out and putting it back in most times this fixes things.

Yeah I tried that, no go

It's a simple enough design, I should be able to do something, but I am
affraid if I take it appart I may not be able to put it back together!

I dont want to break it!

I have the same problem. I got tired of messing with it and sent it back to Puresmoker to be fixed.

Sorry to here that, yours must have been worse than mine.
I cant just press the button straight down, I have to press, then push slightly away from me. Then it makes contact just fine

That is exactly what I had to do to make it fire as well.

Well guys it is a stainless steel tube so that isn't going to break, I just unscrewed my adapter, popped the switch out, didn't loose the spring came out in one piece, removed the button and with reading glasses on I found that one of the contacts in the inside was partially covered by some of that derlin stuff. Took my pocked knife and removed it, blew it off, put it back together (remembering not to put the switch totally in the tube) and it works so much better now. They are a really simple device and to break it you will have to use excessive force.

I for one do not want to go through all this just to get it to work. These things need to come working properly without all the trouble. Is there any mod out there that works properly and is well made that nobody has problems with. I have not found one yet. None of them seem to be made very well. Just a few tiny wires saughtered together and attached to a switch. There can't be more than $10.00 invested in these. They charge this much for them because they are so popular.

I had one and it stopped working and my husband took it apart and it only had tiny wires stuck together and attached to the switch. It looked like any little thing would cause it to break. Does anybody else see it different.

I agree that for the money one puts out, they have every right to expect it to work proper. Since this is obviously a recurring problem, it sounds like they are throwing these things together cheaply with very little QC.
I'm sure I can fix it when I have the ambition and time to do it, but not everyone is handy or willing to do this kind of stuff.
I can tell when I press the button if it's making contact or not because I can hear it "sizzle" inside, so I know it's heating.

I have the same problem with the switch. most time fires but sometimes you have to unscrew the adapter and reposition the switch. Not sure why this has to be done to get it to fire but you do.

The closet thing at 5v that has a tact switch is the GLV which Vapes good every time the button is pressed.

I have no delrin on my contacts. I think its just the way they are made.

V2 is a nice vape though..

I've been VERY happy with my BB from Altsmoke. The atty connection is perfect and it fires every time I hit the button. That's why I just order a BSB from them.

Lucky me I got the chosen V2.................Perfect right out of the box But they didn't ship the 901 adapter I ordered.

Once it was "worked in" this need would taper off. I had occurrences for the first few days when I didn't make a good contact, but haven't had any issues since.

Yep, mine improves daily...and I'm glad I got it.

You know, I'm thinking that new mods may be like new cars...you kind of want to wait until they work out the bugs and get the next production run.

Yeah, I took mine apart and cleaned up the contact points and pulled out the spring a bit to make it a little longer.
I noticed a metal ring inside the switch and cleaned it.
It works better now, but you are right, I need to press hard on the button, and after having it apart, I can understand why.
That metal ring has to press down hard enough to make contact at 2 points, top (heading to the atty) and bottom (heading to the batts).

I think it's a pretty lame design!!
All it would take is a little gunk from leaky attys to mess up the contacts.

Looks like it will need to be cleaned regularly!

Oh well, this will work out fine. I'm sure I'll first in line when they come out with a Prodigy V3!!

The Prodigy V2 uses the "new & improved" mechanical switch. I ordered one of these new switches for my Protege and have yet to see a consistent hit with it. Either does not fire or only partially. Needless to say, I went back to the original tact switch.

Oh well, it is still better then switching out the standard batteries for a 501.

We all have to keep in mind that vaping is still a cottage industry.
