I don't have the unitank but I do have the Kanger Protank Mini 3, and it has been performing great. I'm just assuming things here, but these things have glass tanks, and it will snap if you over-tighten it. That's not the product's fault, but carelessness on the user's end. If you're going to make a post like this, at least provide more info.

For those that don't know, the Unitank uses some strange system to close off the tank when you open the bottom cap so that no juice can leak out. Your friend most likely did something funny to cause the inner mechanics to fail and snap off causing some catastrophic failure, OR your friend thinks it is broken because he didn't know that the inner tank snaps closed when you open it so it seems as if it is broken but it is not. Can't really tell without more info....

I like the protank as well. I agree the plastic unitank isnt durable. Not sure what my friend did but I dont like the design.

That's why it was a flop. I didn't own one but I got a little demonstration at my local shop and it just was horrible. The guy showing me the tank had to open and close it like 3-4 times for the inner parts to close. Definitely not worth buying for any reason at all.

Unitank is plastic. It must of been cracked already. Sorry to rush to judgement. Maybe just a defective piece. He didnt tighten to top at all and it broke from just below the top ring.
that happens right there with a lot of tanks. i think its like a stress point. it was probably dropped some where along the line. i've had ce5's do that. use and put it in your shirt pocket, then take it out to take a puff, the whole part from the metal sleeve on up is gone. i found the broken piece in my pocket. no prior leaking or anything. accumulated shocks is all i can think of.

A glass tank snapped in half?

Only one thing causes that. Overtightening the parts like crazy and putting WAY too much stress on the glass. Did your "friend" use a wrench when he put it together? It only needs to be snug, not tightened to the point where you can't turn it anymore.

+1^^ the one I have has performed flawlessly, I've even dropped it several times and its still in tact.

I rarely comment on products I purchase, but this is the worst tank I have ever bought!

I bought it for the top-fill feature which works as advertised, the problem I have is replacing the coil. As soon as the bottom is removed, the spring comes out stuck to the coil stem and center tube falls out spilling the entire contents of the tank. Taking the top off and draining first is useless because the disc inside prevents the juice in the bottom of the tank from draining along with juice in the top. If it isn't off the market yet, it should be! Do yourself a favor and forget this tank ever existed!!!!!
