Hello all! I'm posting this on behalf of my dad (his member name, *my* technical expertise)....we've just found out about e-cigarettes and would love to know if there's anyplace in the US besides some storefront in Vegas to purchase them in person. He would like to try one out before dropping $149 or more on something that may not work for him. We live in Oregon along the I-5 corridor near Portland. Anybody know of sellers here or in California, or even a place to go that lists such sellers? What we've been seeing is a bunch of glossy come-ons from the internet sellers themselves and a bunch of nanny-state hand-wringing from the so-called health experts, but not much in the way of real information.

Any information would be greatly appreciated! :)

First - Update you're profile with city & state. It will come in handy later. $149.00+ Is pretty steep for a starter kit (IMO). Walk in sales are rare right now.

Stocks are running low in the US. The njoy is being sold at Pilot Turck Stops, T/A Truck Stops, Petro, Kangaroo, and a few others for about $79.00. You must have one of these on the Interstate near you. I have the NJOY NPRO (also goes by, RN4018, PeeWee)

Internet prices for the RN4018 is somewhere around 50 bucks, but if you pay a bit more in the Truck Stops, you won't have to wait for it to be shipped. Buy some juice right away to refill them too. Cartridges are expensive, and don't last as long as they say.

A lot of Malls on the West Coast have kiosks that sell them, but their prices are outragious.

Hey there. This forum is one of the best places for info I've found. Don't get in a rush. Spend some real time reading through the various threads and certainly post questions. Check out the suppliers on this forum as well. I don't think I've heard yet of a 'brick and mortar' store that's going to come near the on-line prices.

Jim is a great example of the experience based advice you'll find here! I started with the Njoy NPro from a local smoke shop but my experience with PV's has done nothing but improve since going with the on-line retailers.
Welcome and good vaping

Jim meant to say RN4081 not RN4018.

He is right, you will pay a premium price to buy one at a brick and mortar location.

I'm Sorry - YES *RN4081*. That's been happening to me a lot lately. I'm starting to copy numbers in reverse. (I think there's a name for that condition.) Oh Well - The mind is the first to go.

RN4081-RN4081-RN4081-RN4081-RN4081-RN4081-RN4081-RN4081. There, I'm good for the next 10 minutes.

But the flip side is, 3 weeks ago, I walked into a truck stop and dropped $98.00 for my NJOY and a pack of carts & tax. I didn't go drop $63.00 on 2 cartons of cigarettes that day, and have not missed them since.
Bought some juice online and did my research. No regrets, everyone should try it. Just do it.

Some people shudder at hearing 98 bucks, but you had it in your hand when you walked out. Now you have time to relax and look for better prices.

Think of that first price as a "starters fee". It will *still* pay for itself in a few weeks.

It you want to get in a inexpensive as possible look here: Wholesale E-Cigarette - China Ruyan Wholesale - Discount Electronic Cigarette Wholesale From China it is not a B&M location and it will take about 10 days to reach the states, BUT for 29.99 including shipping is is an inexpensive way to try it to see if it is for you. I wouold advise buying extra batteries and atomizers no matter which model you purchase, so you might as well get in cheap.

I guarantee if you like it, you will be buying other models and spending more $$ (it is fun:D:D )...

I know a number of people whoi have purchase from this site (including myself) the product works well and provides an inexpensive entry point into vaping..............

Good luck no matter what you decide..........

YES - And as far as I'm concerned, their Service and Communications is outstanding!

If you really want to go cheap, try e-bay and search for electronic cigarettes. There are some really cheap starters there just to get your foot in the door. That what I did 22 days ago and I already have ordered a nice one and shopping for at least one more. By the way been completely smoke free for 22 days. Try it, you'll like it and never look back. I was a smoker for 30 years and quit real thing the first day out. Good Luck and Good Vaping

Yay, fellow Oregonians!

If you just want to try one out and not necessarily buy that day, there's a Smoking Everywhere kiosk in the 205 Mall. That's where I first discovered e-cigs. :D They'll let you take a few puffs off one to give you an idea what it's like, if you like it you can go from there. At $150 a pop I wouldn't buy from them, though. I got a whole starter kit, juice, and extra atomizers for far less than that via internet.

Best of luck!

that is how I got my first taste of e-cigs. A kiosk in seattle. The prices were outrageous but they let me stand there and vape away and I was sold. But I refused to pay with my first born so I hit the internet.
