Can't go wrong with the EH pro V2 version but i just saw that 101vape is offering a 3.1 kit on sale for $15.00, now this is new but 101 vape sells excellent clones and i highly doubt they would list crap .
Not fair! NOT FAIR! I just bought an HCigar KF 3.1 from Vivid Smoke for $49.99.

OK, just kidding. I'm not really miffed about that. I do have to say that I'm happy with the HCigar clone. It doesn't have a bottom fill hole like all the other 3.1 models I've seen, but I can still fill from the top, so it's not a problem. It also doesn't come with any extra parts like some kits do.

It does include the clear (polypropylene) and stainless tank sections, the 510 drip tip adapter and a ready-wrapped 3.2Ω coil ready to install. It's 32g Kanthal A1 wire and 2.5mm silica. I simply took it as it was right outta the package and screwed it down to the deck, clipped the excess wire, screwed on the chimney, trimmed the excess silica, packed the silica down onto the base of the coil deck.

I measured 3.4Ω before I connected the coil. My Supreme showed 3.2Ω when I connected the Kayfun to it. A bit high for my tastes - I usually go for about 2.5Ω on a single coil - but it's OK for the first time. I filled the tank, gave it a few minutes to soak the wick, then gave it a vape. And it vapes beautifully.

Congrats! Now wait until you build your own with cotton. Then you really go down the rabbit hole. I've got two Ehpro Kayfun Lite Plus', an HCigar 3.1, and an Erlkonigin now. For some reason, because that clearly isn't enough, I have another Ehpro lite on the way, an Aqua clone and a Heron Clone on the way from Fasttech. Now I'm eyeing this $15 3.1 from 101vape even though I don't need it at all and the 3.1 I have is my least favorite RTA.

By the way, the full port on the Hcigar 3.1 is on the side. Looks like an air hole, but if you put you finger over it you won't notice a change in airflow. If you put your finger over the real airflow hole, you'll cut it off completely. You would need the green, 18 gauge, plastic needle tips to fill that way though, so I typically only fill my 3.1 via the top as well.

Thanks TG! I almost boiled a cotton ball and did just that, but I wanted my first build to go as easy as possible, so I went with the one they "threw in" for me. In fact, I can't really call it my first build. They "built" it. I only screwed it to the deck, trimmed the extra bits, and did the other stuff involved between the build and the first vape.

I did all the safety steps, too. Had my multi-meter at the ready, checking it for shorts before connecting anything. Except I wasn't able to check for hot spots because I stupidly wetted the wick with e-juice to get it positioned in the chimney floor before I ever fired it the first time. I did fire it open like that to confirm operation, but there was no way to get it red hot in order to check for uneven heating. Oh well, if my first attempt at a build dies too soon, no big deal. I'll just build another. Maybe I'll do the cotton next time.

I have to say, my first build was pretty ugly. It's why I refused to take a photo of it, as so many others like to do for their first build. I could hardly see the coil enough to arch it up a bit to clear the top hole. But I suppose I cleared it enough, though, as it vapes very nicely, and I get the full range of airflow adjustments from zero to category 5 hurricane.

I doubt this is my last RBA purchase, myself. I've got the fever, you see. :)

Ahhhh - OK! So that's what that mysterious hole is for! Thank you for telling me. :)

I'll probably pick up the requisite green 18g plastic needle tip at some point in the future. But yes, top filling does work just fine in the meantime.

I have two KFL clones, one is the "black" edition (color isn't actually black though) by Tobecco and the other one is made by HCigar and is labeled as a v2 version. They are both very different from each other. The Tobecco one has a tighter draw, even with the airflow screw completely removed. I have it in nano mode right now and it came with the usual top cap with the little dome on top. The one from HCigar came with a nano kit but it is not the same nano kit as your 'standard' nano kits. It is larger than the normal nano but it came with a flatter top cap which makes it roughly the same height as the other kayfun with drip tip attached, but the HCigar holds more volume. This one has a very airy draw, with the screw in. Not sure which I prefer more but I wish they were a little closer to each other in consistency.

Another note... the flatter top cap on the HCigar KFL does not fit on my other KFL. I haven't tried it in standard size but in nano mode it just doesn't fit.

I am not a clone hater (presently using a mechanical mod clone), but I had so much trouble with my Kayfun Lite-Plus clone that I dumped it and bought an authentic Kayfun Lite-Plus from inTaste in Germany. Really an excellent RBA with a very good adjustable draw.

it really depends on what clone you get and it's possible to get a lemon. I have 10 now only 1 of them gave me problems so 90% pretty good considering they are 1/5th of the price or less.... if you have the money to blow on authentics more power to ya but I like having tons of clones instead gives me some serious options and toys to play with I LOVE rebuilding... addicted... I get joy taking the trip down to my vape shop setup in my basement with all my building tools lol

Very true ... There are some good clones out there. And the cost savings is well worth it.

In my case, I was so fed-up with the Kayfun clone I had, I ordered an authentic just out of spite.

The major problem with the clone I bought was that it was machined with 4 separate juice canals, and I couldn't get it to stop flooding no matter what I tried.

Obviously, most clones are not machined with 4 juice canals, so it's pretty much a non-issue for most buyers.

Everywhere I hear it says the Kayfun holds 4.5 mls of juice but according to my syringe 3 and half mls pretty much fills it up...Am I wrong?

No I can fit 4.5 but I don't recommend it.. I have been filling halfway lately seems to help get the pressure right once it's going good I'll add more later
