Yes, I've seen these before, I stumbled onto the website a while ago while looking for info on dna 20. Very nice, they seem to have hit all the notes on features that the ProVari and others lack. I'll be honest, the only downside is that it looks exactly like a lot of other mods on the market, I know all the bells and whistles are under the hood, but they could have done something with the case to make them stand out from everyone else. You can spot a ProVari from a mile away. C'mon, at $225, I want people to KNOW what it is. :)

do a search for nexgen and check out the thread, you "may" get one by next thanksgiving if they figure out what they are doing, still trying to figure out the preorder mess from oct.

the cutout for the screen is unprotected and there are a couple reports of the 510 on some versions leaking juice into the mod. really nice mod, works well but needs a few revisions. i traded mine so i could get more attys :D

there are several things the DNA 20 doesnt do well also and it will never strip the provari of it's crown. on top of that as soon as evolv quits making them well thats the end of that.

Might be another high quality device if they work out the bugs Thrasher reported. It certainly seems to have promise. I wouldn't mind seeing another top of the line device succeed, competition is good for the consumer.

I have no plans to get rid of my ProVari, however there are at this moment at least two other high quality devices I wouldn't mind having if I had the cash. One of them being the REO, which will probably end making its way to me eventually.

Looks promising, glad to see another American vendor in the regulated space. But I think I will reserve judgement, and keep my Provari until more people are using it and can chime in. So far the only person I have heard using one traded it for attys :p

just to be fair and clear - the mod itself is done up very very well, the finish is also cerakote like the proV and the construction is top notch , even if the tube is aluminum (top cap SS).

i just wasnt impressed enough with the DNA 20 to justify the cost. im really at a loss as to why this chip is demanding such high prices after being stuck into a body. to me it just isn't "all that" you cant really dial it down, as in if you go outside the chips range or capabilities it just becomes a mechanical anyways. and 5 extra big ol watts just didnt do anything for me, i personally dont need high wattage in a regulated device. i lernt me how to fix low wattage with building proper coilz :D

That's exactly what they said about the Darwin.

Seriously though, give it a year or two for beta testing and I might think about ordering one, mostly for their customized color option.

I would bet that the price of the chip is because they did a small run of them - like anything else, if you don't want a lot made, it will cost you more per piece than a large lot. As the only chip on the market, they can pretty much charge what they want, too. You can get a DNA 20 board at House of Vapor for $50, but that's just the board and the chip, when you add in the other parts, it adds up pretty fast.

glad to see more coming into the market but I think Provari has it's place to stay. It has and will have it's name out there as quality for a long time to come.

Don't forget too, that ProVari could put out an updated version with new/better features. The more high end mods hit the market, the more motivation Provari has to up their game.

And yes, they have established their brand in an excellent fashion - it's now a benchmark device.

i understand all that, my point is the feature set (to me anyways) is just not that impressive. Nexgen even stated its damn near impossible to get the chip into a tube mod.

but for people interested in purchasing this mod i still suggest checking out the nexgen thread as the company has a very long way to go before they match the level of service and reliability provided by provape.

while mods are shipping it has been one disaster after another with the original caps being threaded wrong then mods being shipped out of order, people from OCT still waiting for shipping notices and while its not a big deal it is strange to be one of the first orders and get a serial number in the 300's some dont have #'s others now getting them with sub 100 #'s and it just shows a complete lack of organization at this early stage and i personally know 1 person that had one die because fluid seeped past the 510 connection.

I like my provari just fine. So that can produce higher output, but who wants a 15/16 wrap and 8oh coil :)~ ? J/K

It looks nice, but I like the looks of the provari better. The chip is nicer, but at the end of the day, I just want a great vape and I get that with the Provari chip now, and at a better price. To each their own though, it does look cool also. Plenty of room for different types of beer at the liquor store.

:toast: Vape on!

Haha yeah I could tell you thought it was a nice mod but just needed to mature a bit. My comment was a tongue and cheek shot at the OP for suggesting something so new, unproven, and more expensive was a ProVari killer. Why even go there? Just promote a new and promising vendor and product. I own and love my ProVari but I am not naive or brain-washed to think something won't come out and knock it off, or there is not something already out there better that I just haven't tried. These days more often I am finding myself picking up my mech clone with a .8 micro coil. It does 22 watts at a fraction of the price of either.
