I think the new njoy commercial about friends not letting friends smoke, is a much more effective commercial than any of the Blu commercials. It comes closes to many of our beliefs about vaping without crossing the line that Big Brother would stop:

http://adage.com/article/media/njoy-e-cig-tv-spot-insists-friends-friends-smoke/290886/

Agreed 100%. The message from that advert is the message that should be adopted by all the independent companies as a general theme. I don't expect BT to get on board, but the hundreds of other small companies could set the standard.

I don't know I think politicans are knowingly selling the canard voting for them counts.one of the biggest lies politicians tell, and the biggest lie that is important to sell to america is the lie that voting for canidate x is going to be a real change from the status quo.now things are going to be set right he/she is different than the rest of them. Politicans are the meat puppets that give the illusion we have a choice with our vote, and so we focus on political races, rather than focusing on changing things like....judges, beuacracies,commisions.....and ending the federal reserve.I don't think folks of integrity are allowed into the game without buying into the game.i think this is why some people are calling for a convention of the states to[end the gate keeping the political class protectsQUOTE=kristin;11927180]True. Many a politician has entered office with lofty goals and determined to be "different," only to find out that they cannot get anything done unless they play the game. I've come to believe that the power rests not with our elected officials, but with unelected officials who keep their jobs year after year (judges, agencies, commissions, the federal reserve and the lobbyists who woo and cajole them.)

The government has gone wild, no one is free anymore. Not just e-cigs, government controls everything in our lives, they wanna play god. They are outlawing everything:you must buy low flow toilets, washing machines with agitators are being phased out, light bulbs are being outlawed, a new law phasing out water heaters that go above 120 deg (lukewarm) so we don't burn ourselves, car manufacturers must place the license plate holder no lower than the tail lights.... and on and on and on again.

They've been building walls slowly ever since the first SG Report. They tried in '09 to build it all at once. Now they'll use the plan that's worked with cigarettes. A few bricks here and there each day and, in now time at all, you'll get where you wanyed to be in the first place. An indoor smoking ban here, a sales ban there, adult ID check somewhere else, some sin takes oxerthere. Fill in the gaps and they eventually get what they want, it just takes time.

Death of a thousand cuts, this has been on my mind as the ANTZ have been working their way around the country dropping turds wherever they can find a sympathetic ear. I'm not sure what we can do as they are also trying to keep them under the radar until just days before the vote not giving anyone time to counter their propaganda.

We need to keep an eye on what is going on in our own backyards as the major issues ie; state, national and major metro ones will be well covered on here and somewhat by the media. I'm watching the local papers and so far it's been quiet but I'm fully expecting one of the small cities in the Atlanta region to start some kind of a ban on e-cigarettes so the ANTZ can point to them and say they did it now it's your turn.

We need to find these and get the information to CASAA so they can e-mail people in that region. Get all the links, copies of the proposed ordinance and any local paper articles so they can vet the information quickly without having to do time consuming research.

We can make a difference locally and if not stop the ANTZ we can slow down their death of a thousand cuts strategy.

What I fear most for our youth is not whether may get access to e cig equipment, but that 50 years from now they'll consider these "the good old days.

I agree. Although, this is where parents assume the natural laws of responsible parenting and educating their children. Not sure whom here have children but, if so, do we lock our vape gear in a safe when kids are not watched? I never locked cigarettes up, locked computers, could leave weapons on my benches unattended, didn't hide auto keys, never locked up chemicals under my sink and much more. All of my kids had their first shotguns between the age of 10-12 and all are alive and very successful. I refused to let anyone other than my wife and I decide what was best for my children, and it worked very well.
Much like gun manufacturers required to send a lock with each gun. What a joke, locks to not attach themselves to the guns. So, maybe sending safes with e-juice would help raise children. pfft.
At some point the Gov't. must realize that are responsible law abiding citizens that do not need to be under the thumb of misguided politicians who think they know what is best for me or my family.

We got friends in high places, we got friends in high places, where the vape chases my blues away.......:D

Yep, it is a breath of fresh air. I would suggest we all contact him and ask how can we stand next to him with support.

I live in CA; what do we do to prevent this?

I have a load of folks in California. When Jerry Brown signs that into law (I imagine he will since he has yet to meet a dictatorial piece of legislation that did not make him feel like a real woman) I'll be sending a hellova lot of gifts to friends a relatives. After 77 years contributing to tat economy I left there in 1995 and by gawd I am so glad I did; a lousy state of affairs in that toilet-bowl nowadays and only getting worse. Violating the rights the law abiding, catering to the illegals and ignoring the criminals. WORKING for a living is a joke - the "Free Crap" philosophy has killed that and worsens at every turn. It was always bad - now people raise their brats to live that way forever.

Senile Old Man Don ......... NO respect for California's so-called "laws".

Congratulations on your 95th birthday. :p Just joking, I think you forgot to back out the 18 years since you left there when quoting the 77 years that you contributed to Cali.

Excellent segment by John Stossel. Thank you for sharing. Yet there are still those here on ECF that welcome regulation by the government. Once that door is open, it will only get worse. I doubt any of them will make a comment about John Stossel's segment.

Thank you for your response, I am always dumbfounded how people only see the symptom that only effects them and cannot see that it's just a small part of a larger disease that is destroying everything and every one else. It's just like that old saying: First they came after those people, but I wasn't part of those people, now they're coming after me and there is no one left to stand with me.

I record Stossel's show so I can watch it. I wish more vapers watched it. It explains a lot about Big Government attitudes and how that impacts our own situation. Every time I watch the show I can see an analogy of what they are doing to control vapers and over-regulate the e-cig industry.

You're so right Kristin. He really understands the problem that Washington creates and it goes far beyond E Cigs. Basically Big Business has partnered with Government and I fear we will see that in the E Cig industry.

Sorry to go Off Topic.

But what is the Next Step that CA AB-1500 will take to Becoming Law?

California State Legislature—Bill Information

Subscribe to AB 1500.

UNLIKE the updates I got for SB648, THIS bill appears to have gotten an obfuscated status update that would tend to prevent contact to committees and showing up for hearings. Tomorrow I'm going to call my rep's office and ask for clarification of the "update"

Current "History" (the Status page doesn't tend to be useful):
