Just saw a piece on the news
"Forget everything you know about salt?"

Googled and found the quoted article in Believe It OR Not
The New York Times: Salt, We Misjudged You

I'm glad to have read that article. I'm quite a fan of salt, and I didn't let the health scares deter me. Now, at least I don't have to feel bad about it.

I have this fantasy of scheduling an appointment in Bloomberg's office. I'll bring a cooler with ice cubes, an empty 16-oz cup, and a 16 oz bottle of soda. I'll demonstrate that after you put as much ice into the cup as most restaurants do, it is impossible to pour 16 oz of liquid into the cup without a case of "My cup runneth over."

Bottom line is that there is a lot less than 16 oz of soda in a 16 oz fountain cup.

Eek! That article was written by Gary Taubes. I don't believe a word that man writes/says. I read a few of his books and articles on weight loss and IMO he got it completely wrong and is a cherry picker in the worst and most deceptive way. There may be something to the salt thing, but I'm certainly NOT going to take his word on it.
