Two bills have been introduced in Maryland that would increase Maryland's tax on "other
tobacco products" from 30% to 95% of the wholesale price. While these bills do not immediately tax e-cigarettes, we expect that if passed, there will be an effort next year to define e-cigarettes as "other
tobacco products" and tax them accordingly. CASAA members are asked to fight against this outrageous tax on an incredibly low-risk alternative to smoking.
