Understanding Ohms Law V=IR is a requirement?
Kanger EVOD 650mAh Starter Kit I haven't got a chance of understanding Ohms Law V=IR.
Not really. It does help a lot with vaping in general though.
It's kind of a bummer in a way. Sometimes I think we all (myself included) go overboard with this vaping electronics stuff. But we ARE messing with electricity. And the more options you have, the more types of mods you use, the more you will want to understand the "whys" of things.
If you just stay in standard ohm ranges, and know what batteries to use....probably not a big issue. But if you want to know WHY it gets hotter with lower ohms, or check the safety limits and amp draw when vaping low ohms, or understand how the resistance in a mod will affect the coil's heat....yeah, you need to understand it.
You can stay with a cig-a-like or even an eGo-a-like and just know what ohm coils to buy. Meh.
Considering the available mods and variable voltage/wattage devices that are out there. A basic understanding of Ohms Law can't hurt. If you want over power your coils...have at it. But I still believe that one should know about what they are doing before they do it.

Did you smoke before vaping?
Were you a cardiologist, pulmonologist, tobacco grower, or expert in combustion?
Besides, we don't want to scare people away. That's mega counter productive. So we have to deal with this issue in context....
Like using mech mods. Or building your own coils. That kind of specifics.
It can't hurt to know it. I've encouraged people to learn more about the electrical part for years here on ECF. But don't scare em. Put it in context.
Good recommendation. Those Sears meters are made by Extech and are better made than the horrible cheap Harbor Freight meters I see mentioned too often.
And you're absolutely right!
I'm not beating on you.
However, we need to understand that everyone/anyone on the net reads these posts. So we need context. We were "scaring" darkcelestialillumination who is using an Evod with pre-made heads and doesn't want to know ohms law (yet).
Learned that lesson the hard way... twice. Yeah, it was stupid of me to think it was a fluke that the first one crapped out on me so quickly, then to buy another one (died just as quickly). I'll have to stop by sears sometime soon.
You are welcome! Thanks for the link to the Sears meter. I was just looking for my old ratshack meter that I have had for ages, but I can't seem to find it. Sears is already closed tonight but I will be there first thing tomorrow morning. Looks pretty sweet for $10!
