So you talk about the little radio on top of the big one that's a RadioShack 2-meter transceiver. I bought that thing new back in 1999 and it's definitely showing its age.ahhh ok whats with the dusty unused Transciever ?
I noticed the PL52 connector and coiled mike wire....
I used to run my Orchid at 0.4 ohms. But, I also ran it 40-45W.
Like what melting? I don't want to screw this model or this tank up. tell me what you're talking about. That`s the happy medium. Keeps stuff from melting, LOL. Iv got 3 of them running low .4-ish. :?)
Okay, I understand what you're saying now.You gotta figure the tank is plastic.
Dude take a chill pillGuy asks what his ego is and an Orchid forum breaks out...YAWN

I didn't think I would. Here is a newbie question for you guys. You aren't going to melt the tank. Don't build below 0.3 though because you could melt the insulator; however, not at 10W.
Okay sorry. Didn't know you were starting out. All my posts are sarcastic BS so don't sweat it.I didn't think I would. Here is a newbie question for you guys.
does the diameter of the wire make the resistance go up? I would assume so. if you use thicker wire the ohms of resistance goes up, correct?
Again, I would assume that to be the case.. but I want to make sure before I do something stupid and mess my tank up
