@Zutankhamun, AIDA64 is extremely useful for finding out what components are in a PC system. It tells you everything.

Here's a link to their site.
https://www.aida64.com

I use it myself when anyone asks me to install an OS on a PC that I know nothing about, always allows me to download all the drivers needed.

Finally fixed

The internet connection was weird and slow.
Lots of failed drivers. Lots of videos on YouTube for getting legit win 10 still. No dodgy download. Straight to Microsoft they just gave me 10. Not sure if there is a time limit
Doesn’t look like it, all drivers updated. Perfect specimen
Nice to feel what you guys deal with. Ssd is quick. Feels like a new computer

Old computer I know but it feels good to me. I’ll upgrade at some point

Thanks a lot

I usually shy away from pay-for-fixing sites but had to use one for a driver recently and it worked perfect. The pay for part was just for them installing instead of me so it was easy.
    Great job on the fix!!

It was only upgrading back to 10 that helped me with the driver. I couldn’t get those win 7 ones anymore. Needed to come from manufacturer I think. It was 2nd hand just when I bought it and I don’t think the warranty was switched over. Pc specialist would’nt help me without the order code :(

Lucky windows, the people here and the dude upstairs saved the day for me

Update: here and done. Old windows 7 but we’re back. Beautiful.
    Seems to be fine

Now to get windows 10 again...
Lucky for you! That must be a tough machine. My uncle's old Dell latitude laptop is having an issue as well, the HDD is sometimes not detected and must be acting up. I'll come over this weekend to help him install the new rack and tonneau cover from 4WheelOnline on his truck. Gonna take a look at his laptop as well, upgrading the HDD to SSD might be a good option.

Owning a car but having no mechanical skills, tools and somewhere to work on it can end up being costly. There are many car mechanics out there who can and will take advantage of your ignorance. Even an honest garage bill can be crippling.

I made a conscious decision early on in my computer use that I would get to know enough that I could fix at least basic stuff myself. I disassembled and the rebuilt machines and read books, asked people etc. until I was up to speed.
This was back in the mid 90s when PCs were just starting to become an indispensable part of 'normal' peoples lives.
Now they almost entirely central to everyone's lives (in the West). It makes sense to me to have a at least a good basic set of IT skills, or you are going to tearing out your hair and opening your wallet of a regular basis.

The funny thing is now I fix global backbone optical networks. The PC is just a tool in that process like a hammer or a saw yet people still say "you fix PCs don't you?".
I still can't fix my own car. I'm smart enough but I don't like getting dirty, electrons and photons are nice and clean.

I understand that and should have learnt but there will always be cases in which somebody has knowledge where you do not.

I do understand though and appreciate your help. I think moving forward at least a little applicable knowledge for the mechanical aspects makes sense

I’m in no position to talk yet haha but I will
I must say, the first day of having/using this ssd feels great.
Too early to give a review and I already wish I had extra space! Maybe I spent too much? My Samsung ssd I was advised cost me £50and is only 250gb but It was money well spent. I am happy
