NOTE: I was going to say a Fluke 114 or 117 if you had the money but arm/leg and viola that wasn't an option. If you want to spend though you can get a 114 for under $100 if you Froogle.. 117 for a bit over..
Just remember and I learned this the hard way: A multimeter has resistance in the wires -I think it is - so to use it accurately for ohms for checking your attys you have to hold the leads togther until it stablizes and subtract that number from the reading you get for the atty. Cisco at Avid Vaper got me straight on that.
