Can I use my cell phone charger on my PCC?

I just got a new cell phone, and noticed the charging port is the same size/shape as the port on my PCC, and the ends of the cables appear identical. They both have the little pronged USB symbol on them.

Does anyone know if I can use my cell phone charger to charge my PCC? That would be really convenient, since I'm between computers at the moment, and don't really have anything with a USB port to use for charging the PCC. The PCC didn't come with a manual or anything indicating the voltage of the cable, however, and I'm afraid that if I plug the cell phone charger into the PCC, I'll fry one or the other. (I don't know much about electronics. Or electricity, really.)

Any advice? I promise not to sue you if something goes wrong...

There's been a few posts on this before. Tried to find them but "PCC" is too short for the search engine. From what I recall one said it worked and another said it wouldn't but no tales of frying anything.

PCC's can be a bit sensitive. If anything I'd try the PCC cord on the phone.

USB power is USB power. I use my Blackberry charger for my PCC every day. No problems at all (actually, I've never even had this PCC go dead on me, but I keep charging it every day!).

I am using a Motorola phone charger for my PCC. The output listed on the plug says 5V - 550mA.
It seems to be working fine.

It works, as far as I can tell - the PCC was already fully charged, but the bottom green light turned on when I plugged it in.

That's a relief - I know you gotta invest some cash to get started in this "hobby," but buying a new laptop just to charge my batteries would be going a bit too far...
