Let’s hope the FDA doesn’t force us to have to resort to that!
Can you imagine a scenario where you’d have to buy a legal deadly substance,
so you could evaporate it down to something less harmful and more healthful.

Exactly what happened during prohibition of alcohol and with drugs. We likely would never heard of PCP, crack, crank, etc. and other forms that are more easily smuggled than a kilo of weed.

Not advocating... just telling what happens when the gov't does something 'well intended' - 180 degrees opposite of that, commonly known as 'unintended consequences'. You'd think they'd catch on, but they don't, or they simply don't care anymore.
