I am currently using a Joye 510, and am dripping and filling my blank carts with the many cart mod's out there. I have been reading this forum for a while and keep on seeing cartimizers mentioned. Can someone explain what they are and if I can use them with my current setup? I also just got a dse 905, and am under the impression that it has a cartomizer adapter that came with it. I am just not sure if I can use one or not.

The cartomizers are a combination atomizer and cartridge that is contained in one unit that you screw directly onto a battery. You can get a "510 battery to cartomizer" adapter that allows you to use cartomizers on the 510 - and imo, a good setup because of the fact that you can still use the 510 atty and you have the best atty to move on to a mod.

You can get adapters at a few places but here are two:

AltSmoke | Personal Vaporizer Battery Adapters

in the dropdowns choose 'battery: 510' and in then 'atomizer: 901/KR808/Greencig' which is the cartomizer part.

    or here:
    1x 510-901 adapter(510 bat to 901/808D-1 at) - E-cig Multi Adapters - Wholesale & Retail Best E-smoking Supplier=

You can then either used blank cartomizers:

    5pc black empty cartomizer for KR808D-1 e-cig - Cartomizers - Wholesale & Retail Best E-smoking Supplier=

Which you can fill by opening up at the mouth end and dripping in your favorite juice. See:

... and check the video and link in the quote box too.

In my experience there are cartomizers that are just ok with flavor and vapor and longevity - some that have good flavor, seem to lack in vapor and those that have better vapor have an undertone flavor that isn't pleasant, ... which is why I'd recommend the blanks where you can use your own juice. I haven't had the regular prefilled cartomizers last much over 2 hours but ymmv depending on use.

And that will get you a longer vaping time than the regular 510 cartridges with any cart mod - anywhere from 1/2 hour to an hour and a half longer if you do a good fill on the blank.

As far as the 905 goes, you should be able to find an adapter that works but if it's fit with a 901 adapter sometimes a modification is necessary for that to work with cartomizers. Try the adapter you have, it may work. I just loosen the cartomizer a bit - it's an airflow problem.

Easy, A cartomizer is a combination of the cartridge and atty, it has a flat top with a small hole where you inhale, unlike the 901 attys they do not have an air intake hole. However they do have a slotted connector allowing air in. On a standard 901 battery connector you will have to drill small holes at the base to allow sufficient air in. I have a 905 and a 905D the original 905 had an air hole in it and the cartomizers worked perfectly with them. The 905D has a closed battery connector and will have to be modified i.e. small hole drilled into the side of the connector to allow the cartomizer enough air in otherwise you don’t get enough air flow, it is either that or use the air adapter. The main attraction of the cartomizer is the they are "Disposable" and can be bought for as little as $2.00 a piece, I get 5 packs for $7.95 and they last as long as the 901 atty, most I have used lasted around 3 weeks. The only thing you have to do as in my case is to remove the white air intake and the rubber piece under it and the cut a 901 cart approx 1/8" from the seated position, this allows you to use the cartridge (with no batting) with the cartomizer for easy filling. When dry they take about 20 drops of ejuice and can be used until they die this way. It is WAY cheaper than a 901 atty and works great.

Here is a picture of the 905D modifications I made, I dremeled a small channel and hole through the side so the cartomizer has enough air:

Here is the a picture of the cartomizer on left (original), and the one on the right has had the top and rubber removed. To the right are two 901 carts, the bottom one is original, and the top one has been cut down to work with the cartomizer no batting needed.

Last picture is the 905D with the assembled cartomizer attached, I can now remove the cart tip and drip fill the cartomizer.

I love cartomizer and they are a cheap way to stay vaping, at a 1.59 a piece they are perfect for my needs!

I hope this answered your questions!

'Cartomizer' is a contraction of cartridge + atomizer, because that is what it is. Inside that little thing is both an atomizer and cartridge filling, prefilled with e-liquid. It is considered disposable, because:
    1. It is fairly inexpensive, ~$1.5 - $3
    2. The manufacturers don't intend for it to be refilled.
However, it can be refilled (for a more limited number of times than a 510 cart). There's the hard way (taking it apart and topping off the filling) and the easy way (dripping into the hole at the battery end).

The most common model is the KR808D-1 (hereinafter referred to as Kr8), marketed under such brand names as Vapor King (Vapor4Life), Easy (CigEasy), Ace (Puresmoker), VapoRite (Good Prophets), LeCig D1 (LeCig), Nebula (VaporNine), etc. ... or simply KR808D-1 (e.g., NHaler, VaporKings, Heaven Gifts).

The cartomizers of a different model, GreenCig, can also be used on Kr8 automatic batteries or Kr8 adapters. GreenCig carts are almost twice the price, but some people (including yours truly) think they are twice as good, e.g., much more vapor, although less throat hit. They are sold by NHaler and LeCig.

I know very little about another model, the V9, other than it tends to be more expensive .... goes by such names as Green Smoke, Loong Totem, Red Dragon, Vapure, etc. ... and that it is Leaford's #1 favorite (because of its vapor production). I don't know of any 510 adapters for it.

510 battery to Kr8 cartomizer adapters are available from Altsmoke and Heaven Gifts.

BTW, I had to google "Urban Meyer" to learn who he is plus take a second look at your screen name and avatar to grasp your final comment. I'm not exactly "with it" am I?]
