I recently bought a kayfun clone, my first rebuildable. and I feel like I am trying to build a robotic flea when I recoil this thing. Can anyone give a suggestion on a rebuildable that is bigger and easier to work with? These small screws and everything else just give me a fit. I end up spending sometimes an hour to get this thing put together and really screw up a lot of neat coils.

I know what you mean. I was there.

I, also, have several kayfun 3.1s and it was a bit daunting at first glance. I went to amazon and got a jeweler's headset for $13. The magnification made a world of difference. I asked about others on ECF using them and was surprised at all of the people that had them.

Watch YouTube videos and practice. After a tankful, I would disassemble and replace the coil and wick. It is rather cheap.

Yes, magnification does help.

The Eleaf Lemo would be right up your alley! It's like a Kayfun on steroids. It has a larger build deck with two ways of attaching the coil, glass tank and massive adjustable airflow! I have three Kayfuns and the Lemo blows them all out of the water. The only minor con for me is it is a 23mm atty and I like things to look uniform. I have a 23mm Astro mech that should be arriving today that will make me very happy!

Here's some suggestions:

Get a dripper, and start coiling on that. The larger area will let you improve your recoiling skills, and then the Kayfun might go easier.

Or, if you really want a tank-style, how about a dripper-tank, such as the Big Dripper?

After you rebuild the Kayfun, don't fill the tank (in fact, leave the tank off) Drip through the chimney (and inhale through it) until the coil is working to your satisfaction. After you've got it set, then you can add the tank part and fill it.

If all else fails, try to rebuild a couple of Kanger heads. After those, the Kayfun will seem spacious!
