I've gone 70%VG with zero issues. The coils will gunk up faster, but they're pretty simple to clean. Just chuck em in a pot of boiling water for 15 minutes then rinse thoroughly and let dry overnight.
I'm on my last box of coils before I start rebuilding though. I'm banking all my coil frames. Can't wait to see what doing a BVC in there is like.

So I say go for it. Worst case you trash one coil and then you know.

It's doable, if you're willing to run lower watts, with reduced airflow. The lower watts will pull the juice off the wick slower, and a tightened airflow setting will cause more vacuum at the coils, helping pull juice through the wicks.

In other words, you can make it work, but it's still optimal to go 70% or less. Unless, of course, you're rebuilding your own coil heads, in which case you can make the wick keep up.

I would say that you probably won't have as many issues as you might think, I ran 75% VG juice in all my tanks for a long while with no real problems. Now days I sometimes even run 100% VG in tanks, it just requires some thinning. If you have problems with the high VG juice, try thinning it down a bit with either vodka or distilled vodka.

I use 100%VG and air control holes wide open with mine. Had it since October with no problems.

coils, that resistance goes up a couple .1's on say a 1.2 dual coil, when it gets to 1.8 or so if I'm not getting a burnt taste I soak them, and rotate them back through again, I've never gotten a burned out one on the EMOW yet, doing that (that taste is awful and boy you know when your coil's burnt) and I run ITC's Heaven's Bounty in the EMOW. It's thick as molasses on a cold day *lol*

The authentic tanks easily cope with my DIY 90% VG juices. Never had a problem with them at wide open airflow and 15 watts.
I don't thin my VG with anything other than the flavouring.... Nice long pulls are the trick with most clearomiser type atties. A lot of wicking issues are caused by people trying to use the attie like a cigarette with short, sharp drags.
Value for money wise, the Emow tank is exceptional.

I rebuild my coils vertical for my emow mega tanks. Absolutely excellent vape when you get the wicking correct. Here is a post on how I do it. Hope it helps.

You guys just made me feel a LOT better. I am a newbie at vaping, who started last Friday with a Kanger Evod 2 starter kit and after 29 years of heavy smoking, I have not touched a single cigarette since! What I did discover though is that my body does not like PG so I have been vaping a pretty dark Caramel from Velvet Cloud in my starter kit. It is my understanding that they use up to 30% of water and heavy flavors and since I want to stick to the PG free VG/Water vape I thought I upgrade to the Kanger eMow Mega 1600mah Kit.

Since then I was told that there where better devises to use for VG/Water/Flavoring and tried to update my order before it was shipped but that totally failed. Reading this, I feel hopeful that I will be able to use the device without too many issues. If I have to change the coils often, I do not mind as long as the taste is good and it keeps vaping easy and "pretty" for me as I cannot see me out and about with a box mod and a huge Glass tank on top. At home yes, but not out and about :)

Reading through some of the above comments leaves me with a few questions:

If you boil the coil in hot water, do you boil the head where the coil attaches too (so not the tank, just the head)?
If you add additional water or Vodka, do you warm the VG first so it mixes better?
Can you use a syringe with blunt needle to insert the VG or is the VG too thick for those needles?

Thank you so much in advance.

Caprilli, if it's the Kanger dual coils, I don't wait until they "burn out" when the resistance starts going up or it's been in there about 20ml's worth-ish, they go into a bowl and when there's a dozen or so in there..bring the water to the boil, set off, and let them soak until the water cools. Rinse out other parts in soap and water...and dry burn the coils dry, then put them back into rotation..it's no big deal and they seem to last longer that way...now when one does "burn out" on you and trust me you'll know it's a bad "OMG what did I just vape" thing, I'll toss those...it's not often that happens with what we do above..generally one that goes "burnt" on me has gone through three or four "soakings" .good luck!!

I have vaped bobas bounty and frankenvape through evods with a drilled out air hole... I do highly suggest a little distilled water.

I was hesitant to water down a 22$ bottle of frankenvape at first, but eventually diluted it with up to 10% distilled water... I found that because it wicked so much faster that the flavor and vapor actually improved.

Soaking the coils before they get too gunked up... great advice... out on an oil rig as a newbie vaper it was the only way I could stretch my few coils for 3 weeks.

I see people using Vodka, Rum, Wisky, etc, etc. ..Those have vary low flash points and will actually ...... the vaping effect. Lowest evaporation and highest flash point or flammability is Everclear. Think of it octane booster for e-juice. :D Keeps your coils cleaner also. Since i mostly do RDA's and RTA's now I've figured out how to rebuild all the factory atty's. I've also discover on an I-Clear X.1 (DBC) that all you have to do is pull out the crappy silica wick and rewick with cotton. Big vape improvement. Of course pressed together atty's require a bent needle nose pliers to pry of the top and small bench vice to press back together. Get the hang of it and I'll never have to buy atty's ever again on all my factory tanks. I do have at least 1 of every type since doing this E-cig thing for about 4 years now. I started back with crummy carto crap.
