Of all the discussion of the potential causes of cancer here in this thread...
One thing nobody has mentioned yet is certain viruses...

There is a poster on this forum who would be very disappointed.
Personally, certain viruses sounds as good as any other reason for getting cancer.

As far as the opening question goes...
Nicotine would be way, way, way, way down on the list...

If it's even on the list at all.

Virii as a vector makes a great deal of sense; cancer is due to genetic damage, and virii rewrite dna... perfect mechanism.

Isn't the HPV vaccine ultimately to protect against cervical cancer?

I know that this Organization Isn't very popular with some Vapers. But that Doesn't detract for a Lot of Good Work that they have Done. And Continue to Do.

Since the 70s the cancer rate, from what I remember seeing on documentaries and such is staggeringly high - 1 in 3 I think it was. Alas, our overall environment seems to be pretty toxic.

Does vaping contribute... We don't know but the weight of the evidence thus far suggests it is at least lower risk than smoking. Probably by a large margin. I think common sense can be used here - no tar, no carbon monoxide, just the sheer math of # of ingredients.

It depends too on how much risk you are willing to accept, versus reward I think.

A life of zero risk would be very boring it seems like, and impractical, but thats me lol.

LOL... Does vaping cause cancer... Well I would imagine it all depends on which "expert" you talk to. Seems everything causes or can lead to cancer in this day and age, I for one am a cancer survivor and have decided that I am just going to live my life as I see fit and not worry about what can and cannot cause the problem. Eventually something someday will kill me, so if vaping does cause cancer I guess I get to chose what will do me in!!

    Cheers!!

afaik, im no medical expert, everything has a potential to cause cancer as just by living causes cancer, cancer cannot live w/out us.
its a loaded question. a good question is whats has the least negative effect something has to an individual. answer? it depends on what has been studied/tested and who has done the testing and under what circumstances.
what causes cancer? like i said its a loaded question that could take forever to answer, but i'll probably be dead by then when the asteroid hits

Viruses do not rewrite DNA of human cell, only their own! Just saying!
I don't remember where I read this, but there is a pretty theory on how a large percentage of our dna actually came from retrovirii, and that would make them the motor of evolution....Just google 'retrovirus and evolution' ;)

I don't need to google anything. I am a senior research biologist/biochemist runningba research lab of 10 people with nearly 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications working in the largest medical research institute in Europe..I know what you are referring to but that is not what the original post was suggesting!
