I have recently looked into getting into vaping. I live in a home where both parents smoke normal cigarettes. I do not intend or want to use nic in any of my vape. I am also in talks with a friend who makes the mods and juice. I currently have no smoking experience other than trying hookah (stupid choices) once and a few puffs of my sisters vape. She is not a heavy user nor i think she uses it at all. I just want to feel like I don't need food in my mouth at all times. i have tried chewing gum and exercising, and i usually run out of gum in a day. I also can't force myself to exercise regularly. Is it a good idea to vape for a bit to test the waters and see if i snack less and have less anxiety or should i find other ways to deal with it? I shake my leg a lot during the times I am sitting down. I also chew my nails and bite my cheeks. mostly nails.

If you don't have a bad habit there was us NO need to start one.

Snacking is Ok in moderation.

Snacking is important. At least it is for me. So i carve a few calories oyt of my diet during tge day so some times i can have a soda, ice cream, candy, etc in the evening as a guilt free treat. Its a real treat to save 50 calories here. 40 calories there, and 80 calories at another meal knowing i can have a guilt free scoop of ice cream after dinner.

People on diets without the ability to treat yourself once in a while can be torture.

Since i was 50 my metabolism slowed down and I started putting on weight like crazy.

I use a diet loosely based on the mediteranian diet.

With that i dropped 12% of my weight almost pain free.

I am 61 1/2 years old with 12.84% body fat, and my waist size has only gone up 2 inches since i was in high school in 1973.

Hi. I'd say it's very difficult to say.

I snack more since switching from smoking to vaping... but I smoked for the Nicotine and taking up vaping and gradually dropping the Nicotine is kind of not helping the snacking.
If I didn't use Nicotine, I'm sure I'd be more anxious.

So for *me* I snack more and feel anxious if I don't vape.

Your results could be totally different, since you don't have a smoking habit.

Puffing away could reduce your anxiety as you have something to do, to mess with, to keep you occupied. If you snack because of these things, then you might snack less.

"All to play for" as we say. :)
