It depends on the smoke detector, some are photo sensitive and any particles(smoke/vapor/water/dust) can and will set them off. The one in my bedroom goes off if I forget to close the door to the bathroom when I'm taking a shower.
I read a post where a teacher set one off at training in a school in the bathroom;-) There where no students there and she did not get caught. Id be careful when vaping in bathrooms.

^this
some use photoelectric technology, some use an ionization sensor, some of the new ones use both.
my guess is it will set off a photo electric, but an ionization one will be pretty hard to trip.
the ionization ones usually say something like "for kitchen/bathroom" and the photo ones say something like "for bedroom"

Yes.... I've had the shower thing happen so I'm sure that if you're vaping too close to one the same thing will happen. Just be careful and keep a little distance between you and them.
I've heard both answers, yes and no. I'm very leary of vaping near them at work because medical device manufacturing and fire alarms do NOT play well together.
Nice avatar pic Nightshard...Cockapoo? He/she looks exactly like mine.
