Can you safely charge a battery when it's still 1/2 to 3/4's charged?

hi - super newbie here...even though i read the warnings ahead of time, like an idiot, i bought a mini (because they sell them at a local store and i didn't want to have to wait 48hrs to get one in the mail, lol)...

therefore, of course, the battery only lasts about a half hour, if that, before it has to be recharged. since i only have one battery at the moment, i was wondering if it's ok to put it in the charger every time i go to set it down, or if charging a battery when it's 1/2 to 3/4's charged already is bad for the unit.

thanks. :)

Not a problem at all, because the "memory effect" does not apply to Li-on batteries in any way.

Charge it when you want, for as long as you want.
The more often the better actually.

You aren't an idiot for buying one in the local store.

People have beat us up enough for being smokers, we don't have to do it to ourselves. You took the first great step. Most people here started with something similiar, and most people probably don't stay with the same pv anyway. My mother is on her third in a month. You live in NY, right? Cigs are about $80 a carton. Still cheaper than buying cigarettes even if you have to buy 2-3 until you find the right fit.

Good for you for taking the first step, and welcome to the world of vaping!

Shizzle you are not an idiot, just beginning your journey into the wonderful world of vaping. Welcome!

I agree. Nothing wrong with where or how you bought it...I know I overpaid a bit for my kr8 that I've been using, but when I look at how much I've saved in the cost of cigarettes, well....you get the picture. And really, hello and welcome here to ECF!

Like you, Shizzle, I just started two weeks ago and mine was a tiny e-cig that held a charge for about 3 minutes and cost me almost as much as my Riva! :) ...then I found this forum and a whole new world opened up for me.

As an active member on several mobile phone forums, the question of mid-cycle charging comes up a lot, and while I usually forget with my Riva batteries, charging a Li-ion battery before it's dead is actually better for prolonging it's life. 40% is generally considered the low-end sweet spot but they can be placed on charge anytime without harming them.

Congrats and welcome. :)

Yep, welcome! Your not an idiot, at least you were serious about quiting. Takes heart to smoke those uber cheapies from the truckstops and malls. You have the willpower to do it, that is admireable. Many have given up after wasting cash with suppliers for craptastic products and nasty over-priced juices. Stick with it, and don't give up !

I think we all have stories like this. I started with the Smoking Anywhere e-cig which my husband bought me at the mall. I then found the new Halo element (very cool looking), which I use when I'm out and trying to look fancy :). I now have a Joye eGo which I absolutely love and pretty much use all the time. The Smoking Anywhere one is getting packed up and I will give it to my sister who says she is going to try and quit smoking on her birthday. The Smoking Anywhere one was the most expensive and I'm kind of sorry we bought it before doing some research but it did start me on this journey.
