Have been on the genesis bandwagon since the end of December..
I have Line V1,V2 and a SS.. a Maxi and a MY-T the MY-T I use for dripping to test juices..
I use 32g Kanthal and 400 SS mesh.

I have a G-tank US coming and a G-Bell.

I also made a wrapping tool for the Line, Mini, Maxi which Sidora helped by making the video..
Here is a link to the thread I maintain for it..

Here in Montreal we have over 5 vapers that have gone genesis and sort of set up a local support group.

1 has been modded, air hole bored out with a 1/16 drill bit, and the fill hole bored out to 2.8mm. The other is stock and isnt being used

If if you were like a normal person and only had 1 Katana lol, would you have it modded? How much of a performance increase are we talking?

The line is to big to close the Darwin arm even with a 510 shorty adaptor.

I currently have a Gtank US. I have not had much success with this unit. It is gravity fed genny. Very fiddly. Cannot seem to get consistent wicking. But haven't given up on it.

The juices I tired on the genesis line
Bobas - nice vapor and clean but not much flavor or throat hit
Gorilla - same as Bobas
I've tries both 400 and 325 mesh for the ave juices at different wattages. Not much success yet.

BWB RY4/ejoker - great flavor/throat hit/vapor
Casa - really intense flavor. Maybe too much for me on a genny

TriBeCa - awesome flavor ect. My fav on the genny

Generally the line increases flavor with great TH and good vapor all the juices I've tried except the ave juices. It's not just the vg content cause bwb malty works fine.

Yup, I would have modded it. First of all I knew that this unit would be a keeper, when I bought it I had the intention to make it my all day pv. Stock performance was nice, but it wasn't on par with my ody, and I knew that it had way more potential.

The first mod I did was bore out the fill hole. This increased wicking performance and allowed me to chain vape, as well as take longer drags without drying out the wick. I stayed with this setup for a couple of days, until curiosity caught up with me. After watching so many youtube vids of people blowing plumes of vapors by increasing the air hole I had to try it out, and I'm glad that i did. Vapor production increased, flavor intensity increased, and the TH mellowed out.

All in all, I would have to say that the mods made the difference for me. My katana is on par with my ody vapor wise, but the flavor on my Katana is much better. I can't wait to get my Zenesis. From what I've heard and read, these perform great right out of the box.

I guess with a step back,we are getting more informed and make better decisions buying stuff as the months pass along vaping.

I am also getting into rebuildable tanks...watch out.

Also, toying with the idea of getting rid of my GGs and diving head-on into high tech stuff...hunting a svoemesto right now. (VV/VW with rebuildable tank, the best of all worlds!)

1st pieces incoming already :)

Full kit B/O but he has a 3 weeks turn around, purty good compared to a certain greek I know that rolls every 6 months or so

BTW,that chart looks impressive but after studying it carefully, not that many parts involved, just that the config possibilities can keep you occupied for weeks

Edit: and that part is missing form that chart

Well I'm sold. How scary was it taking a drill to a super expensive mod lol? Anyone near Toronto with drillz or skillz that want to drill a katana?

Super easy, for the fill hole i just turned the drill bits by hand until i reached 2.8mm. The teflon is super soft and you shouldn't have a problem doing it hand, also work your way to 2.8 by slowly increasing the drill bit size. For the air hole I used a 1/16 cobalt drill bit. Used my portable hand drill, and it was easy also.

Thanks man! I think I'm goin to try it over the weekend!

I'm assuming with the larger fill hole, that you're running the Kat with no fill screw? Do you find the larger hole causes any leaking?

And a random question. How does the genisis stack up to GG/Ody? I know the Kat is your daily and you mentioned reasons above, but as far as ease of setup, wicking, consistency etc how is it? Its been love/hate with the Kat so far, would you say Ody would be more or less aggravating for me?

I do run it without the fill screw, but I also tend to keep my katana upright. When i do turn it upside down, it does leak from the wick and not the fill hole which is what you want anyways.

As for the ody vs kat. The ody is much more user friendly, and I would bet that it would be less aggravating for you. They're great out of the box. The only thing to worry about with the ody is how tight or loose the coil wraps are, and that's not even a big problem. Wicking isn't an issue for the ody due to the juice flow control. Setup wise, I find that the ody was easier for me to learn and master quickly. Consistency, both have been consistent for me, as long as the setup was done correctly.

I like to tinker with things, and now that I mastered the art of making a silica wick its no longer fun/challenging, and somewhat takes away from my vaping experience. I know that I will eventually master the art of making SS mesh wicks, but i really haven't had the chance to make a new wick, since SS mesh wicks tend to last a lot longer. I'm still on my SS wick that I made 3weeks ago, no drop in performance and found that it got better after a week using it, where as I replaced my silica wick every week or week and a half.

Once you get that Kat running properly, let me know. Once it clicks its stays, and you'll be refilling it until the coil literally blows. Good Luck.
