I realize ProTank 2 is out there but I have these with the metal tip and I don't want to toss them. Has anyone figured out a way to rubberize these metal tips? I was thinking about Plasti-Dipping them but didn't know if this was safe (health wise).

What bothers you about the metal tip?

If it's the metallic taste, that can easily be remedied by soaking in white vinegar for 10 minutes, and then thoroughly washing it clean.

Otherwise, you are SOL.

I'm not sure if it would work on the protank or not, but when I smoked a pipe I always saw the pipe clenchers talking about softy bits - they are small rubber tips that slip over the end of your pipe to make it more comfortable to clench. There were a lot of people that didn't like the thickness, so they would order tubing and heat shrink it to fit their pipe stems... Might be worth a shot? You can find the pipe bits at several different pipe and tobacco stores - b&m or online.
