Can't decide... KD808D-1, 510 or eGo?

Ok, I have a BluCig and not liking it too much. Battery life is horrible and there is not that much vapor. I smoked 1pad of Marlboro Ultra Lights before. I can't decide between the KR808D-1, the 510 or the eGo. The KR808 is just sexy and I hear it has a little more vapor and battery life than what I have. The only thing is it has cartos and I think I want attys. I'm not really sure of what I want but I think attys are more versatile. The 510 have a lot of vapor but the battery life isn't that great. I could get the 510 then add the eGo battery later right? Or should I go straight to the eGo? Urg, so confused! If I had the money I would just buy all three!

The KR808D-1 is the best cig-sized PV hands down, forget the 510 and it's crappy battery life, you can use 901 atomizers on it too if you want without any adapters. It all depends how much battery life you think you'll need, the eGo is like a big cigar but starts at 650mah, the XL KR808D-1 batteries go up to 380mah, which is still good.

I would look at it like this, if you want cig sized, all you gotta do is carry a spare or 2 batteries with you and they're small so it's no big deal, or if you wanna stick to taking 1 bigger battery out then get the eGo / Riva.

Just remember that the eGo is not a proper 3.7v device, they're more like 3.1-3.3v under load, the KR808D-1 is a proper 3.7v hit, so you'll get a better hit from the KR8 even if the battery life isn't as long.

I went with the eGo, but I think at some point I might get one of the more cig like ones like the KR with a PCC, you know variety and all that. I find the ego to be great but the advantage of a PCC is the carrying case for supplies as well as charging.

If you were a PAD smoker I would suggest that you go with either the Riva or an eGo. The battery life will last you 6-8 hours between charges, so you won't be waiting on a battery to finish charging while you're having a nic fit. You can use atomizers or cartomizers and there are several configurations for each that you can use such as Mega atomizers and cartridges or XL cartomizers.

Both look more like a small cigar than a cigarette, but both will fit into the palm of my tiny hands with no problems.

Just my humble opinion. Get a pv that have a bigger battery capacity - one that would last a day or two. Pass though would also help. The smaller battery that looks like analog will only last a few hours.

I love the 808 family, standard and XL/Mega batteries, then the big G400 batteries. For me, though, I'm a confirmed cartomizer person.

If you are hard-core for an atty, probably stay 510 family. If you plan to buy right away, check liberty flights for their $29.99 (after the 20% discount that you can get on their site) Riva 510 kits, I believe they still have some in stock and their shipping cost is low. Riva 510 is a 750 mAh battery, similar to an eGo, seems solid. Right now I'm using one of them with 2 ohm Boge cartomizers, a nice combination; for you, the atties shipping with the Riva kit might be fine.

vapor-pure is another site with super Riva pricing for the Holidays, $23.99 delivered -- they're out of stock right now but expect to have more available within their sale window which runs to New Year.

If the thicker batteries, less cigarette-like, are fine for you, then these manual Rivas should be good. Generally I still prefer the more cigarette-like 808 with cartos, auto, for new people, but it sounds like you know what you are looking for.

I'm not set on attys. I just want to re-fill myself and not be a pain in the ... to do it. I guess I'm leaning towards the KR808d-1 but I'm having a little trouble finding them online. Seems easier to find the 510s. Anyone know of a good supplier for the KR808 for cheap?

Looks like he still sells the rubbish cartomizers though, it's important to use the Boge cartomizers with the 808, the old Kanger style cartomizers are crap.

I'm new to vaping (started a few months ago but didn't start strictly vaping until I ordered some liquid I liked better over 2 weeks ago).
The first one I ordered was the Inferno from volcano with the 1000mah battery which from what I've read is like an Ego (put it together myself since I didn't feel I needed the usb passthrough also and to save a little money). This thing lasts me a day or two if I vape moderately, three days if I'm going lightly, and almost a whole day if I vape heavily.
Well, I decided I wanted something a bit more inconspicuous to take out around town, so I ordered the Volcano Magma (510) kit afterward. I really like this one also, and I do use it when I'm out, but at home I DEFINITELY prefer my Inferno. For one I like the manual button (which you can optionally get on the 510 also), and secondly I don't have to worry about charging it much since it lasts so long. Plus, for me personally I just find it more pleasant to hold, sort of like a cigar (I thought at first I'd like something more cigarette sized better, but it actually turned out to be less comfortable to hold for me).
If you get a 510 you will HAVE to get 2 batteries and optimally some kind of charging pack. My magma batts only last me 2-3hrs before I need to swap the dead one into the charging pack and take the other one out. With just one battery you'd be waiting for it to charge constantly. The 1000mah batteries for the ego models are only around 20 bucks and will probably last you all day on a charge, so it would not be more economical to order the 510 IMO.

My partner and I went out and first bought the ones that had the look like cigs. We quickly found out that these were a big aggravation as were were constantly changing out the batterys, and some of the cartos didn't vape all that well. We are the proud owners of the eGos. Not only do the batteries last us most of the day (we are heavy vapers) but that if we choose we can have one that has one juice in it, and another that has a different type with different nics in them. I usually have one battery going while the other has been charged and switch them out when needed as well.
We bought 2 kits on sale from Liberty Flights that had two eGo batts, two atty's, and two cones. As well as prefilled cartos. There are a lot of vendors having great sales around here on ECF. So just look around. Oh and we can't wait to order the 900 mah batteries for even longer vaping.

I have a Vapor4life kit and a Riva. I love my Riva but I find myself going back to the 808 everytime I am going out. The 808 is easier, looks more like a real cig. I have the long batteries and they last me all day. I love vapor4life cartos.

I just got started 12.01.10. and have only used the KR808D style. I like it a lot, in fact haven't bothered to smoke a regular smoke since I got it. I was only smoking 4-5 packs a week, so maybe that's why I haven't had a problem with battery life... except once when I drank a bottle of wine and "vaped" my head off and then forgot to switch out the battery before leaving for work in the morning. I'd recommend it, in fact I have recommended it.
Maybe someday I will try another style, but for now I am content with the KR808D.

That is exactly why it's working out for you. You smoked less than half a pack per day, so the battery lasted longer for you. This isn't the case for people who smoke a pack or more of analogs per day.

So carry an extra battery in your pocket ? they're only small, 2 x XL 808 batteries outlast a regular eGo battery.

Puresmoker.com has good 380mah xl batteries for the 808 for 12 or 13 bucks I think. I got my buddy an 808 kit from there with one of the xl's to go along with it, and he really likes the xl.
