Hate to say it, but what you are describing is exactly what I see when I get a box of the bad batch of cartos.
If you look in at the batting it looks like real thin layers of a synthetic cloth, like nylon or something, instead of looking fuzzy when wet.

I had the same thing happen as well.

...if you fill your Boges properly, they should last around 2hrs before having to top up...for me, about every hour of vape time, I add around 10-15 drops and rock on...takes less than a minute and keeps everything nice and fresh...if that is just ohso too much for you, try one of these Carto Tank Mods ......

I'm currently using the resurrector carto's, and I looked at tons of you tube videos after I got them. Plus my shipment came with a syringe. I used the condoms they came with, filled it with juice, filled the syringe and inserted that into the cartos. Did that twice and then let them sit for about 15 minutes.

So far everything works great, no burnt taste, plenty of vapor. Being the paranoid individual that I am, I check the filling on top occasionally just to make sure it is still moist. If it isn't, I'll drip a few drops until it looks good. Don't know how long that method will keep up, but I haven't yet had to do a full refill on any of the cartomizers.

Also, I removed the plastic piece on-top and replaced it with a standard atomizer tip just to make life easier.

I agree with brendon above. Tried almost everything... A syringe is the most effective method i've found. Condom method second. I have also come to the conclusion that certain juices should only be used in an atty. heavy VG and tobbaco extracts just trash cartos. My favorite juices are T. Extracts, but I only vape them in 306's. Otherwise i get about 15 min in a new carto... the tastes changes, and never comes back. The exception to the rule is Bobas... For some reason it works well in a carto despite being all VG.

My suggestion...purchase a tank to put the cartos in, the tanks keep the cartos consistently moistened. Watch youtube videos on MAP DCT tanks, Big Daddy tanks (e.g. lil' mama and big daddy tanks), etc. Next purchase a relatively inexpensive mod such as a silver bullet, bombshell, etc. Then you'll be well on your way to having a entry level device you can happily rely upon daily with very little maintenance.

I use 650mah and 1000mah Ego batts with Boge 2.0 cartos all day and they work just fine without overcurrent cuttoff issues. I agree that LR may limit the life of the batts vs 2.5ohms, but two of the 650 batts are a year and three months old. I know the MOSFET current load is heavier at 2.0 ohms, but they seem to do just fine.

Riva batts die quicker and need recharging more often on 2.0 in my experience.

OP, you've got alot of good suggestions and thoughts and here goes mine.
I use Boges only and a 80%vg juice. Mine do not last as long as others who
use a thiner or PG juice, but that's ok with me.
The first day on a cartomizer is sucking alot of air....the second is the "perfect"
vape day and the 3rd is a pretty good draw and late the 4th day
it is time for me to toss...as it is getting too tight a draw. So 4 days cartomizer life
is about average for me. I don't clean them, not worth the effort for what I get.

You also could be going thru what many, many of us had, is a loss of taste for a short
period of time. Your taste buds WILL CHANGE thru out different times in your vaping
experience. Typically last 3 days or so and magically, vape taste will come back.

If you can, you also might consider a pv with higher voltage battery. I cannot tell you
the night and day difference that there is. I have a 3.7 and there is just no comparison
to my back up Riva.
We all have opinions and models that we prefer. What works for me, may not work for
others.
There are posts that highly suggest and speak of wonderful miracles using a
dual coil cartomizer. Well, I got some last week, to get in on the miracle vape set up......
and guess what......I don't like it at all!! Draw is wayyyyy too tight and overheats the
cartomizer. So we just have to try, try, try...to find out what works for each of us.

Good Luck and hope all goes well....could very well be a off batch. I too have had that
happen.

    NO, it's not to small.

Works like a champ with a 2ohm Boge carto.
Remember too that the eGo uses pulse regulated voltage, so C rating doesn't play as important a role as with just a regular bat.

I think I'm going to order one of those prepunched boge 2.0 cartos w/ the tank and try that. seems like it takes the guess work out of thinking the carto is dry.
