Hello! I've been looking around for some BD 3ml syringes to mod my clearomizer, but have been unsuccessful. I've looked all around walmart and rite with no luck.

Do I need to ask the pharmacist or should be out in the isles? If I can't find them in store, I'll need to order some online, does anyone know a site where I might find them in boxes of less than 100 =p

thanks!

Ask the Pharmacist, Walmart, CVS or most local drug stores should have them but they don't keep them out in the open. I would avoid online unless you absolutely have to as shipping will kill ya unless you go bulk like 100. I get them for 25 cents each locally.

Also I don't know how many you have to mod but the new CE2 has just been released with a new tube that's "supposed" to solve the cracking issues. If you don't already have a bunch of them you might want to check into that. I haven't received my order yet but from what I've seen it looks like they've finally figured out how to make a quality tube. Only two vendors I know have them in so far, hitliquid and gotvapes but should be more places soon.

If you need a lot of 'em Amazon is a good place to pick up a case of them :) Otherwise, MadVapes carries them, though they are out of stock right now. You could also try a local mom and pop pharmacy. I asked at mine and once he was convinced I wasn't going to use them for no good (I said it was for a craft project) he just gave me a handful for no charge.

Syringes used by vets might be available. You should be buying blunt ended needles. And they are typically sold separately from the syringes.

After being turned down by a wal-mart pharmacist, my local rite aid gave me one for free =)

Very happy indeed!

Now for the mod itself, all I need to do is cut the ends off to my desired length and slip it on. What would you guys recommend as my cutting tool? Scissors, knife, saw, etc, or does it really not matter? I don't want to botch this =p

thanks!

I used a pocket knife, just about anything will do as long as it isn't dull, scissors might not be sharp enough and crimp more than they cut, I'd stick with a blade that you can work back and forth, you can clean up the edge after your done if you want with a file.

I just cut mine to the length of the original tube, maybe a little longer so I don't error and then file it down to the right length.

If you happen to have a pipe cutter or something like that, I used a coaxial cable stripper, those make a perfect cut. Otherwise sharp instruments work well, but you will have to clean up the edges.

There is an assortment of styles and sizes of blunt-ended needles availabe on amazon.com, though I realize this goes against our tendency to complicate the crap out of things :)

Alright, cutting it was a breeze, just used a sharp kitchen knife. Then filled it down so it was nice and straight. Slipped right on, and was fairly tight (although it's very easy to rotate, it's difficult to remove from the battery because of this). No bubbles when inhaling, so I think the leaks are history.

Unfortunately, almost 5 minutes after I thought my mod was successful, I got a terrible burning taste, and the atty was shot. I attributed it to messing up the coil while modding (possibly causing them to overlap and causing extreme heat) or pushing down the plugs too far (I understand the wick needs a lot of "breathing" room)

So I took out another and did the same mod, being very careful not to disturb the coil. Lo and behold, I had more burning taste! This time the atty didn't die however. I thought about it for a minute and removed everything but the main plug, tried it then, and voila, burning was gone. I had the plug and mouthpiece packed in there too tight.

Things are good for now, and hopefully this one doesn't burn out prematurely as well. It's such a good design, but was terribly executed, IMO. Thanks for all the help from everyone =)

You can widen the wick slot area on each side of the gasket that fits around the cup, that should help with your wicking issues. I just use scissors and cut something like a / \ around each slot area.

If you order some more get the newest revision, no tube mod needed and they changed the base a little to have a more sturdy secure fit for the tube. So far I haven't had to widen the slots on the gasket either.

Sounds great Nomo!

Could you link the sites that are currently carrying the new revision?

thanks!

These are the only ones I know of currently selling them. Their may be or should be soon others as well. The tubes are available in different colors and the smoky is very dark, kinda hard to see inside unless the lighting is just right so unless you just want a dark tube I'd choose another color.

I go to Walgreens to get mine, and they are super cheap here in Missouri. I was just in yesterday; I got 12 3 ml, 4 1 ml, and 3 5 ml, and walked out for $4.50! I always specify the BD syringes, but I don't care about the sharps on them, as they are usually too small for anything but flavors. I have a huge sharps collection; if I ever throw them away all at once, they'll probably call it medical supply dumping!

I use a dremel tool with a grinding wheel to cut mine; others have used a saw or even a pvc tubing cutter.
