For about the last 8 to 9 years, I have been using joyetech ego batteries with vivi nova 2.5ml tanks. I make my own ejuice and rebuild the atomizers. Recently my stock of ego batteries have run low and I cannot find any joyetech ego batteries or even comparable batteries made by other manufacturers to purchase online. So I recently purchased some endura t-18's to utilize with the vivi nova tanks. I first tried using a vivi nova tank with a 2.0 atomizer head on the t-18 and it burned right away on the first hit. So I made another atomizer to 1.5ohm, but the battery will only allow me to get one hit before it fritzes out. I would like to continue to use the vivi nova tanks, since I still own so many of those and I rebuild/rewick them. Are there any other batteries (not box mods) that you would recommend to use with my vivi nova tanks? Any other ideas or suggestions?? Thanks in advance for your response!

If you want Joyetech brand, you'll definitely have a harder time finding them. If you don't mind "clones" and if you don't mind Evod batteries (Kanger or clones), you'll have more options.

In case you don't know, the only difference between an Ego and and Evod is the button placement. Ego buttons protrude from right under the Ego threading whereas Evods are flush mounted on the body. Otherwise they are the same exact thing: 510 and Ego threading on both, battery voltage is the same on both, same chargers used.

    Hi UncleJunkle,
No I wasn't aware that the evod and ego are pretty much identical, thank you for letting me know. I guess I'll have to go with some other brand Ego's, since Joyetech doesn't seem to manufacture them anymore... Are you aware of any Evods that charge from the bottom of the battery (ie passthrough)? Most of the top charging usb cords tend to go bad real fast in my experience. Thanks again!

Are you looking for strictly USA vendors or are you open to Chinese vendors, too?

    I'd prefer US vendors.

OK, I'll look in my bookmarks and post a list in addition to what's already been posted. However, realize that the downside to buying this old gear with non-replaceable batteries is that you do run the risk of getting dead on arrival batteries or batteries that won't have as long a life/hold as long a charge as they did when they were new on the market.

But I have to give you this one suggestion from one vaper to another: Consider getting a few of the smallest 18650 mods you can find if you can. Things are getting bad in the USA. Supposedly in about 3 months you won't be able to buy anything online from USA vendors due to a vape mail ban. If that happens, you'll only be able to buy from a local vape shop and you won't likely find ego batteries there anyhow.

Hey UncleJunkle, thanks again for all the info and I will appreciate your suggestion, I'll look into it as soon as I get some ego's ordered. I definitely have considered all the risks involved in buying non joyetech ego clones that have been made so long ago, but it will delay having to change up the whole system to sub ohm etc. So, I'm planning on first seeing if I can get these T-18's exchaged for some evod. Then try to stock up lol.

You don't have to sub-ohm using a higher powered mod. You can still use your Vivi Nova, you just set the wattage really low - set it and forget it. I use 18650 box mods with old clearomizers designed for egos all the time. I just set the mod to 7 to 8 watts. The mod goes all the way up to 75 watts, but that doesn't matter.

Only thing you's have to buy besides the mods is a couple batteries and a charger. You'll have to understand battery safety, which for you there wouldn't be much to learn since you'll not have to bother with worrying about exceeding the battery's amp limits, since you're tootle puffing with it.

If you ever need help finding a small box mod that takes 18650 batts, batteries, charger, etc, you can always PM me and I'll see if I can help you.

If you are talking about the old Vivi Novas with the long wicks I kept some until I left Spain about a year ago where I used them as back ups ( marble floors and tanks with unprotected glass not being a good combination.)

I used mine with an iStick 30w and the 510/Ego adapter which came with the mod, set the power at 6.8 watts max and never burned out a coil prematurely. As always I'd change the silica wicks about every 6 weeks, but other than that all went well.

Good luck with your quest and I hope you get a result.

The joyetech E-com is probably more usable and a better buy. Wish I would have grabbed one back then.

    Hi Falconeer,
Yes, I am referring to the old Viv Novas with the long wicks, except mine are the plastic ones and not glass. Thank you for your well wishes, it looks like I am well on my way!

YES! There are 2 US vendors who carry the 1000mAh eGo batteries that charge via a USB port on the bottom of the battery (you just unscrew the bottom silver cap to reveal it). I've just within the last month ordered 14 of them from EcigMafia.com and from LightFire Distribution (AKA KangerWholesaleUSA.com) for some friends. Both have them, for not much difference in price either...though S/H from EcigMafia.com is less expensive than LightFire, unless you order $75 or more from them.

Kanger eVod 1000mAh USB eGo Battery - A USB charging cable comes with it, too. I'll check to see if 1 of their coupon codes is still active, too. This vendor does have a quantity discount price you might want to check on. That's why I bought 10 from them.

Kanger eVod 1000mAh USB Battery - Also comes with a charging cable - You need to set up an account to see the prices on their website.

My bad phrasing - mine were the old plastic ones too. I actually lost about three of my glass tanked Nautilus Minis when they hit the marble floors in Spain, which is when the Vivi Novas came to the rescue! In time I got the metal latticed Nautis because of this.

Glad you are getting fixed up!
