Can't get away from Protanks

Can't seem to get away from protanks. Recently caught the protank 3 and although I haven't had a single issue with it in the past almost 3 weeks.. I'm disappointed that all I'm getting from the latest and greatest kanger has put out is... Well really a semi decent dual coil. I've only been vaping a few months but I've caught the vape-bug and it's turned into a hobby. I hear great things about the kayfun lite but it's too pricey for me. What about any clones of the kayfun? Any suggestions?! Trying to be done with protanks!!!

I have been a big supporter of the pro tanks and still am. I recently got a kayfunlite+, and I can say for sure there is a substantial difference. With that said, my go to take around is still a pro tank 2, and the kayfun thing is more home based for me. There are clones. I believe the Russian is even regarded as better by some. There are tons of rebuidables out there in all kinds of price ranges, if you are looking for something. Doesn't have to be a kayfun to be good. Good luck man. FYI if you are going to use the Kanger stuff it might help to start learning to rebuild the coils yourself. This seems like a logical step into getting into a buidable setup.

Thanks macpeace, I appreciate it. I've been thinking for awhile now to get into coil building. I sold my protank 2 after I bough the protank 3... If I build a dual coil I need some videos first and I haven't had any luck finding a protank 3 rebuild yet.

Protank was my 3rd tank. Then I tried the dual coil 13,792 wick madness of the iClears after my B&M had the 16 for 6 bucks. And went to the 30. Tried the 30S and don't like it. Hits like a disposable carto from days far gone. But after you've had your fill with protanks and the bottom coil dual coil, I highly suggest you try out a tanked carto. Instead of taking the wattage up as high as my MVP will go, I turn the carto down to 6 - 8 and am looove the flavor and vape.

if you're wanting to move away from the protanks, get the iclears. Order a 16 or buy one for real cheap and give it a try. You won't regret it.

Yes plastic. What objection do you have against plastic other than thinking glass and metal are better materials so therefore protanks must be better?

Based on my experience between plastic versus Pyrex, Pyrex tastes a hell of a lot better. And there is a little worry in my mind when chain vaping about plastic heating up and possibly vaping it. Don't know how realistic that is, but if it's even a small percent realistic, I'm not interested.

I don't really care for the protank 2. Mine either gurgles or it won't wick and gives me burnt hits. Also within 5 days of using mine the glass chipped on the edge from over-tightening it. Have been using the iclear 30 for the past week and a half and love it.

I got an order of ekowool and kanthal and my replacement pyrex coming soon so I'll give rebuilding it a try.

Sorry to hear that! I hear a lot of bad news about the protanks. Gurgling and burnt hits.. So far (knock on wood) I haven't had any issues with my mini protank 2 and protank 3. If I don't buy a new tank which would be leaning more towards a kayfunlite or something similar that's way less expensive.. I'd at least like to rebuild this protank 3 coil. I need a video though!! No luck so far...

I like protanks cause of the materials and the low-ish price to jump into them. It functions great for the most part till I start taking them around with me and the heat from my pocket/ environment will cause it to leak a little. The other complaint for me was that I suck at rebuilding them.
I got one of those kayfun lite clones as daily beater and never looked back. I still have a new protank2 in shrink wrap! The kayfun lite (clone) was better in vape, quality (clone) and ease of rebuilding. Still, I would not hesitate to recommend protanks to others getting into the vapor scene.

I'm stuck here guys! There's just too many options and too little funds! I need a new mod.. Stumped leaning towards an svd and I want a new tank.. Can't decide on a genesis or and RDA. Done so much research and I still don't know what to do... And I'm just bored/unsatisfied with my vape set up now.

I'm truly sorry for you.. You could have got a decent clone for slightly more than you paid for that thing.

I really recommend an oddy clone as a next step to rbas. Just make sure you get the one with 2 piece top cap and get heavy gauge nores wire, or ready made nr-r-nr wires 50 pack for like 8.00. The oddy it the most consistent and leak free rba IMO. The term would be the larger version. It takes a little practice to build the coils but not too bad.

Okay, so taste is a VERY subjective thing when it comes to vaping. I will submit for consideration though that some plastic tanks taste every bit as good as pyrex, or maybe even better. I use both, I have a PT, PT 2, and iSmoka BCC that I use regularly. Some of my juices taste better in the iSmoka (plastic) than they do in the pyrex (PT, PT 2). Of course YMMV, again this is very subjective.

As for chain vaping plastic, I can tell you from my experience that I have not had even the slightest hint of the plastic getting anywhere near hot enough for this to be an issue. I chain vape a LOT sometimes and this has never been a concern. The counter-argument is that I have also never lab tested the plastic to see if this could be an issue, but I've never felt it necessary either. I would be more worried about the silica wicks used in most devices than I would the plastic the tank is made out of.

The protank 2 for me is just to much trouble. I can make it vape and taste great, but it takes too much fiddling around with it to work right.
I have a kayfun clone from FT and it works great, but my everyday vape is on the EVOD.

I have two evods, three protank minis and the protank II. I don't know why I'd need anything else at this point. They all vape good. Now I'm looking for a mod, provably the mvp. Can't really rebuild coils efficiently without an ohm meter.

JeremyR that set up looked beautiful and last night I did a couple hours of genesis researching and the oddy, cobra and Aga models seem to be pretty solid. I see some "cobra genesis style" tanks... And fr really reasonable prices ($22-$30) are these clones? Hard to tell. I guess we are all looking for the perfect vape. All opinion and preference. I just want a solid, great tasting yank that produces great vapor and a mid that's variable wattage and will be durable and look good too. I appreciate all the feedback guys. I am only a few months deep into vaping so all the info and feedback I get, I'm grateful for.
