Based on my experience between plastic versus Pyrex, Pyrex tastes a hell of a lot better. And there is a little worry in my mind when chain vaping about plastic heating up and possibly vaping it. Don't know how realistic that is, but if it's even a small percent realistic, I'm not interested.
Okay, so taste is a
VERY subjective thing when it comes to vaping. I will submit for consideration though that some plastic tanks taste every bit as good as pyrex, or maybe even better. I use both, I have a PT, PT 2, and iSmoka BCC that I use regularly. Some of my juices taste better in the iSmoka (plastic) than they do in the pyrex (PT, PT 2). Of course YMMV, again this is very subjective.
As for chain vaping plastic, I can tell you from my experience that I have not had even the slightest hint of the plastic getting anywhere near hot enough for this to be an issue. I chain vape a LOT sometimes and this has never been a concern. The counter-argument is that I have also never lab tested the plastic to see if this could be an issue, but I've never felt it necessary either. I would be more worried about the silica wicks used in most devices than I would the plastic the tank is made out of.
Good luck in your hunt for the perfect solution, that's why many of us are here ...
