Can't handle the massive throat hit in my rda!

I've been searching and so I came across the following to help reduce throat hit in my patriot rda

• Reduce nicotine level of juice
• try 100 percent vg
• make sure air hole is perfectly aligned to the coil
• the closer the coil is to the air hole vs the post, the less throat hit

I vape five pawns gambit which is my adv and it's not known to have a strong throat hit. My build is dual microcoil at .8 ohms with cotton. My liquid is 12 mg and the throat hit makes me feel like I am getting punched in the back of my throat.

I'd id rather not have to buy lower nicotine level for the same liquids I like, because I tend to use my rbas more than my rdas.

Is is there anything else that I've missed in my list that I can try? How about if I build my patriot with single coil instead of dual coils?

blowing insane clouds is not that important to me. I prefer flavor over clouds.

Your airhole size needs to be proportionate to your build. did you already enlarge them? what size are they?

oh . . .. and is that two 1.6Ω coils, netting .8 . . . or two .8Ω coils (netting .4)? Just asking.


also, if your coil is centered a little higher than your airhole (air passing under the coil moreso than over it), that'll increase TH too. Try lowering your coils, if that's the case.

I have Gambit 12 MG in my immortalizer right now and it has been one of the best vapes I have ever had. It is setup with ribbon coil at 1.1-1.2 and it's warm (not hot) with very little throat hit and tremendous flavor. I wonder if your just running a little too low for the juice in your Rda. Before pulling the coils check how close they are to the airholes. Can you get them closer?

What is your wick? I notice an increase in throat hit when I use slightly too much wick (generally this happens in my RTAs though).

If it was me and you can't get the coils closer. I'd try to run duals in the 1.0 range first and see how that works. If it isn't better then I would go single. Vary your wick amount and setup as well to see what happens.
