Just as you can't un-invent an idea.
If your heavy handed government chose to ban all vape products most of us would have the knowledge to build our own equipment and make our own juices.
Prohibition is a non starter , history has taught us that . Even in the war on drugs some of the officers are starting to defect .
Heard on the radio the other day New Zealand wants to be the first country to ban the sale of cigarettes.
Unbelievable , have these people learned nothing ?
Back in the 1970s the UK government tried to stop people from making gun powder . As kids we used to get our mom to buy potassium nitrate from the pharmacist so we could make gun powder. Then came the IRA and stopped our fun. Todays bomb makers use other chemicals though strangely potassium nitrate is now available again.
What I'm driving at is you can't stop an idea . If you lived in pre prohibition era would you have stockpiled a lifetime supply of your favourite booze ?
Maybe it's just me and my healthy disregard of draconian law , but I take the view that if I ain't hurting anyone by my actions , no damn government is going to stop me . As a kid making explosions or an old dude cloud chasing .

When I lived in Australia they had so many Kiwi's living over there they used to joke about Newzealand , last one out please turn off the light.

That's all.

You can't unring the bell. Or put the toothpaste back in the tube.

Give someone a taste of freedom, and they will come back for more.

I'm a grown man. Do I really need someone to protect me from myself?

I need protection from myself on a daily basis.
All I ask is I get to provide my own protection.
The person most unsuitable to be a politician is someone who wants to be one.
Just leave me alone .......n it.

There's 1 law i support here about e-cigs
The no vaping inside public spaces (buses, grocerie stores, movie theaters etc) Mostly because not everyone wants to smell or see your big ... clouds and i'm in those people i don't wanna go into places to just see vapor everywhere it's annoying and unrespectful imho to those who don't vape or smoke.

Otherwise if our dear government would prohibit vaping as a whole...... I'm pretty sure i'd die 0.0

We dont need a law for that.

If a business doesnt want smoking or vaping inside their store, it should be their decision not the government.
Period.

The only regulation that makes sense is E juice labeling and manufacturing standards for any retail ejuice sold to the public.
Juice manufacturing and saftey standards are very much needed.

I stopped buying juice when I found a hair in a bottle of very popular high end juice.
I dont trust any juice maker.
I DIY.

Unfortunately before they made it a law everyone and their mother were vaping inside everywhere blowing clouds like crazy. Plus they can't really tell if you have nicotine or not in your vapor (i know there's no 2nd hand vapor) it's the fact that alot of people don't care and feel entitled so they blew their vapor everywhere including people's face so that's why i don't mind that one. I don't dyi and most likely i'll never do it either, i don't wanna go into a restaurant or something and see vapor everywhere to me that's disrespectfull. Some may feel otherwise but that's just my opinion. Besides even if they were to reverse it and tell us it's fine to vape inside most places would still not want you doing it so it's about the same but stops those blowing big ... clouds from doing so in public spaces.

So what?
Dont like the atmosphere? Dont go.
Its a privately owned business.
Dont give them your money.
No one forces you to shop at a certain store or eat at a certain restaurant.

Thats how free market works.

The goverment can't balance a budget they get paid to write.
They do not and cannot run a business.
Beyond pure safety guidelines, the government should stay out of business.

The goverment isn't here to "tell you it's okay".
We own the government. They dont own us.

Oh wait... You're in Canada.
Your government wields more power over citizens lives than ours, so that last part about the government may not apply.

Talk about harsh...... Didn't say you had to agree i was stating MY opinion don't like it don't read it ?
No one would go into these buisiness if they allowed vaping because 90% of people are ignorant and literally think vaping is like smoking. Our government has nothing to do with it we allowed the law to go through and all vapers i know agree with this because there's too many a**hats thinking they can do like you and do whatever the heck they want. I know no one who wants to enter any PUBLIC space and see vapor or smoke everywhere. Don't agree ? again MY opinion. I am free to state my opinion on these forums and if you don't like it you can i won't stop you and franly idc i agree with this single thing NOT regulating everything vape related. So again don't like my opinion fair game but you didn't need to be so harsh about it.

1. So now you know what 90% of people want?
2. The only thing that suffers would be the business owners bottom line.
They should have the right to fail if they choose.
Thats the "free" in free market.

Lol.
I have no feelings about any of this except that I believe an inept government that cant balance a checkbook shouldn't force businesses to accomodate one social group over another.

You missed my point completely.... You basically attacked me because i'm from canada and seem to treat me like i'm ignorant. Not cool, also i've talked to many store owners and none of them mind the no vaping inside and quite alot of my friends are vapers now and yes they completely agree with it stating 90% was bascially throwned in there to say the majority of people want that and yes i know (i live in canada you don't). Again there's a nicer way of talking but seems you can't answer me without being mean about it. I see no point in keeping this up. So i'll say one last time : Just because someone dosen't agree with you dosen't make them an ahole for posting their opinions. On this note good day sir !

Ps: should probably add i'm in quebec and canada does not reflect our laws. Here we have THE harshest laws in the whole canada and i know them very well ;)

I was giving you a "pass" because your in Canada.
Quit taking this so personally.
It's not.
It's a discussion about regularing business owners rights to operate a legal business.

And yes, our USFDA is totally corrupt, and only proposed legislation to basically hand the industry to big tobacco companies, because some of the FDA officials are Ex BT employees.

These regulations are not put in place to "protect the public".
They are a tool to allow more government control over the free market.

Then we got off to a completely wrong start (i'm french so sometimes my english comes out the wrong way and i don't get understood the right way)

What i mean is : i don't support the actual regulations, what i do understand is that wether it be vapor or smoke there's more people who DON'T want to see, smell, or be in those situations. The fact vaping is a no go inside public spaces like restaurant, malls, movie theater etc that's because some (excuse my language here) dumbass went ahead and had fun blowing huge amount of vapor inside those places which is why we're considered smokers even if we're not. To me any government official is corrupt dosen't matter where they work, to me they're all working for big tobaco which sucks BIG time. Like i said the only thing i do agree with is vaping outside of those places everything else i'm completely against and do help vape shops owner get more clients in (spreading the words reffering smokers who want to quit etc). I support 100% my vape shop (not every single one since some owners are plain rude and only want your $$ but that's not unique to here). Again if i came harsh sorry but i kinda hate when people seem to judge you for an opinion, and again vaping laws here in Quebec are different than the rest of canada. I have no clue how harsh these laws are outside of my own province but i only know we have the worst of it (ie : being branded as a smoker).

Regulations = the end of the industry and a BIG win for big tobaco which i'd rather die than see
Vaping inside public spaces = my own opinion and i don't support this unless it's a convention or something specific
Being branded as a smoker = already killing the industry here and why most shop owners struggle.

Those are most likely a Quebec thing like i said i've got no idea about the rest of canada since most province have different laws, but THE worst is not being able to order online from stores in my province, yet i can order from other canadian website ? Makes 0 sense and just goes to show how stupid our minister actually is

NO harm meant good sir and i hope you can forgive the frenchie in me :p

As a business owner for many years, I cannot support that type of government regulation.
Freedom means free to choose.
Government should work for the people, not against them.

It isn't the governments job to save you from yourself.

Would you eat and spend your money in a resturaunt filled with cigar smoke?
I wouldn't.
And if enough customers felt the same, the resturaunt wouldnt stay open very long.
Another would open with its own rules that restrict smoking.

No Government needed.

Big government is always a problem and never benefits the citizens.
History proves this over and over and over....

I do agree that Quebec has different laws than the rest of Canada but Quebec wants all the cake, eat it, not to share it with anybody and the rest of Canada has to make and give them the cake.....they've been doing this for decades. You can't take anything that goes on in Quebec to represent what happens in the rest of Canada.
I also agree that Canada is taking the idiot approach toward vaping and the Quebec government is leading the pack with the harsh laws. Quebec and Ontario have the most to loose to vaping, those 2 provinces supply the rest of the nation with tobacco.
Its the Canadian way....tax the nation to the brink of poverty to benefit the few and the few are in both Ontario and Quebec. That's why there is no middle class anymore along with Canada is on the verge of being considered 3rd world yet one of the resource richest countries in the world.

Tbh our "bill 44" here in Quebec is too over complicated and YES does make the government control us i mean we can't even vape in a vape shop because that bill labels us as smokers which also prohibits the sale online. That's just our province though every other province in Canada let's you vape inside specialty stores (aka vape shops). Again i've got no clue why the heck they went that way but unfortunately we can't do much about it but simply move elsewhere in canada.I still think it's dumb to think a restaurant or any other places should have to close in order to have another one takes it's place and have "regulations" to not vape inside. I for one hate when someone blows vapor in my face just like back when i was a smoker and one of em blew that smoke in your face. But that's my own opinion and you are completely free to disagree like i said though that's the only thing i agree within the bill 44 everything else (labelling us as smokers, not enabling sales of product online,no promotional stuff, vape shops HAVE to hide everything inside and close off the shops to outsiders etc) all of that is complete and utter bs in my eyes. But hell seems like canadians have no balls to fight againsts these legislations,i as a single individual can't do much other than protest such laws and hope that others join the movement against it)

Plus they're speaking of installing even harsher laws in Quebec soon (ie:ban of any flavor and packaging other than tobaco flavors) that would simply kill every vape shop here and end the industry as a whole in Quebec.

Not sure i get you but check out bill 44 that's what makes Quebec having the worst part of the vape laws has nothing to do with us being whatever you're trying to label us as. Rest of canada is completely fine (sure it's bad but less than here) every other province has the right to vape inside vape shops to try the mods/juice here you cannot do that and vape shops owners HAVE to hide everything and basically barricade their stores.

Edit : i'll add the link anyway feel free to judge Quebec residents if you want but unless you live here you most likely have no idea what it's like....
