I wanted to make a post and see if anyone else had the same experience as myself.....

I am fairly new to DIY.. but I have ordered both TFA Vanilla Custard and Capella. My very first batch was a vanilla custard mix using Capella's ( Vanilla Custard amongst other flavors. Didn't taste good at first and tasted even worse after a nice long steep.:nah: I have posted in here about the flavor tasting flat on another thread. I decided to try TFA's Vanilla Custard. Made the same exact batch using the same flavor mixes except I used TFA VC.I mean what a difference. This VC mix was absolutely wonderful.:eek::eek::drool: NOW... I ran out of TFA VC so i had to order Cap VC. I made the same exact batch again and the exact same taste is occurring.. Flat and nasty.

I wanted to see if anyone else here has had the same experience as myself.

Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
All it is , is individual flavor preferences , you like TFA better , thats completely normal . Some like Capella's more , others like FlavorArt .

All are a little different and some prefer one to the other , don't find anything surprising about this . Why you ordered more Capella's baffles me though , you like TFA , order that .

Sounds like you are convinced you should like Capella's more , don't take other peoples choices so seriously , who cares, you found yours.

Doesn't Capella have two versions. One with diketones, one without ? Perhaps op bought the version that isn't suited to his palate.

edit : The TFA vanilla custard on Bull City Vapors site has diketone warnings, as does Capella version 1. Capella version 2 was formulated for those who would rather not use A P. My guess is that the op ordered Capella version 2

Hiding up a tree
I went with CAP Vanilla Custard V1 due to it being massively popular, but I have to say that I am not a fan.
Next purchase will be either TFA or FA Custard (or both).

I find that CAP Custard has a strange taste (at any percentage really from 2 - 15%), it lessens with steeping, but it is still present after steeping and breathing.
The taste for me is similar to the smell of nail polish, a distinctly sharp acrid feel initially, then the custardy flavour comes through at the end. vaping it is the equivalent of being forced to sleep on a bed of nails for most of the night then being allowed to move on to a water bed for the last 10 minutes.
I have used it in recipes for a few months and given it a fair crack of the whip, but it is just not to my taste.

I found CAP Cake Batter to be a similar experience.
